Reunions: well the Stripes for one and Outkast. but also The Fugees, Mazzy Star (get this done for crying out loud), Postal Service, sand for the cool 80s band of the year like they did Crowded House and Duran Duran before let's go with Oingo Boingo with Danny fucking Elfman (this would really fucking rule and could be a great Friday night sub-headliner). I heard on Sirius that David Bowie is planning a 2012 Goodbye tour. They mentioned that he'd be playing Tampa, France, Spain, California, and Madison Square Garden.
The two-weekend Coachella for 2012 is a BAD idea. No matter what week you go, your going to have the feeling that you only went to half a festival. And the B>S> about "identical festivals" is also B>S> I went in 05,06,09,10,11 and I WON"T be going to this money grab in 2012.
Hey monk, when will you let us know about any rumors? Any potential headliners? Or at least some possibilities Of headliners? Anything at all that has to do with bands. :)
Flying Lotus Radiohead The Knife The Pixies The Velvet Underground The Jesus and Mary Chain U2 Stone Roses Cocteau Twins Pink Floyd Talking Heads Led Zeppelin David Bowie
@Thom Yorke once I hear anything I will start the blog back up again. I am certain that they have at least one or two of the headliners booked, otherwise, they would not be selling tickets today.
They actually don't need hefty headliners. They sold about 40,000 tickets since this morning. Expecting another 50,000 by Monday morning. 60% sold out after the first weekend with twice as many tickets available is damn impressive.
1. They must have reeled in at least one huge headliner to really spring confidently onto the two weekend format. I'm guessing it's gotta be Radiohead because it makes the most sense, but what have you heard (if anything) about our other perennial favorites: Daft, OutKast, Rolling Stones? The only reason I don't include The Smiths or Bowie is because those seem like unreasonable pipedreams (unless I am mistaken?).
2. Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver make too much sense to not be on the lineup...any thoughts on those two?
3. My Morning Jacket...in your opinion, are they big enough for a headlining spot? They've got the albums but not the hits or the widespread indie credibility, fantastic new album though.
And if you're right about The Knife I will lose my shit.
maaan Radiohead is starting to feel like the Arcade Fire/Muse/Killers "sure bet" this year. Maybe I'm just buying into everyone's wishlist like i do every year.
Black Baptista. No serious rock band since these guys came on the scene this May. Insanely good. http://www.blackbaptista.com. Guitarist is really well know I think. Found them on Facebook this week.
Monkie, is it possible the names you listed for 2011 and didnt make it on the line up, were probably meant for 2012? Looks like the plans for tivo-chella were started in mid 2010.
why do people want to see Beastie Boys so bad? Do you really want to hear songs about hot sauce all day and fighting to party? Come on, they are a joke. I'd be disappointed to see them headline.
I really dont hope that the beasty boys headline. But we have to be realistic, they are headliner material. Some people hate them, and some people love them. & it's most likely going to happen. .
My Morning Jacket aren't headliners? Did you see their Sasquatch 2010 show? I left at the FIRST encore and I was already blown away...and I didn't leave because of disappointment...I wanted to see that Canadian with the mouse helmet
To be fair, I love My Morning Jacket but an amazing show doesn't automatically equal headliner status. If that was the case, Flying Lotus and Trentemoller would be headlining. Not to mention Sasquatch is not at the same level as Coachella in terms of booking power, they would never be able to afford the more expensive acts like Prince/Kanye/The Cure/McCartney/Gorillaz, etc. So headliners there aren't automatically comparable.
MMJ is an amazing band but the demographic is just off enough for Coachella so that they wouldn't be a headliner (at least I don't think). Much better fit with ACL or Bonnaroo. I think if they show up (which I'm hoping they will) they are the first sub and hopefully get a longer set on the Outdoor.
Sasquatch got the Foos this year too, so they definitely have the cheddar to get those types of headliners...I think they just DON'T want to as that's part of the festivals charm.
However, it would not be surprising if MMJ headlined Coachella, considering how they've been bumping certain bands way the fuck up the bill for the past few years (Jack Johnson, Killers, Muse, KoL, Arcade Fire, fuck even the Strokes). All those bands with the exception of Arcade Fire were billed much lower than MMJ was for their last appearance.
Expect them, it's totally possible. But I also think (this year) Radiohead is TOTALLY possible.
Yeah but have My Morning Jacket had even one mainstream hit? Don't get me wrong, I love these guys to death and want them there so badly, I just really don't see them headlining. The only recent headliner that wasn't either an industry legend/veteran or an act with multiple mainstream hits was Arcade Fire, and I think it's fair to say that Arcade Fire is much more a "Coachella" band than My Morning Jacket.
When you look at the "realistic" names being thrown around, it's mostly Foo Fighters, RHCP, Radiohead, Gaga, Beastie Boys, Coldplay, Dr. Dre, Elton John. MMJ feels so out of place with that list it's not even funny. And then when you pull out the big guns that everybody wants there, Radiohead (both a realistic and fantasy headliner this year), OutKast, Daft Punk, The Smiths, Bowie, Rolling Stones, Talking Heads, well MMJ is even MORE out of place.
I still say they are likely to show up, but they'll be first subheadliner, not headliner.
To be fair, I guess Portishead never had a huge hit in America either, but I also have heard that they were still in negotiations for Prince when the lineup had to be released, so I think they were intended to be first headliner from the start.
I think it's fair to say that GV has to have at least one monster in the bag to be so cocky to do two weekends. Of all the headliners big enough to do it, Radiohead makes sense in that they have an album out. However, they are Radiohead so they are still a wildcard. There is also the fact that Daft Punk was asked to play the fest last year and the response was that they "weren't ready yet", so some people think that indicates they are planning on playing as soon as they get their shit together and that DP will be the big get.
But there is no way they'd sell out two weekends with a headlining line-up of Foo Fighters, My Morning Jacket and Beastie Boys. GV is savvy, they know that. There has to be somebody of mythical status on the poster next year for them to move to two weekends.
Hah, cannot believe we already have a fake poster. There are a ton of acts on there that I really, really want to see at Coachella so it's nice to see them on there (even though this has literally no relevance as to who they'd actually book).
To be honest though, needs more "bro" Sahara picks to be believable (Avicii, Kaskade, Calvin Harris, etc) and I don't think they could sell out two whole weekends with those headliners, even though Radiohead is a gigantic draw.
I like that ^^ lineup. Even though I'm not too happy about the Foo's or the Beasties Boys. Great fake lineup though. The knife* Justice* Radiohead********** Pulp* nice overall.
you people have low expectations for coachella. if 2 of the 3 headliners end up being foo fighers, beastie boys, lady gaga, my morning jacket, coldplay....it is going to be one weak year.
i feel like all of those except coldplay are subheadliners.
Just because you feel that someone is a subheadliner, it doesn't mean that it's true.
Foo Fighters, Beastie Boys and Lady Gaga have sold millions of records around the world. Beastie Boys first album alone sold more copies in the US than Arcade Fire and Muse's discographies combined.
But Coachella's about ticket sales. All of which Foo Fighters, Beastie Boys and Lady Gaga trump previous Coachella headliners Muse and Arcade Fire in ticket sales, venue capacities and total event grosses.
Foo Fighters make sense. There are always acts at Coachella that wore out their welcome by hitting every major market multiple times and every competing festival the year prior but the plebs still bleat about excitedly, and someone needs to bring in the bros. They would fulfill both of these.
Coachella hasn't had a truly legendary headliner since 2009, and really 2008 was the last time more than one truly huge headliner appeared. That year lost a ton of money for GV, so hence the more "current" headliners of 2010 and 2011. If The Strokes, Muse and Arcade Fire can be headliners, then so can Gaga, Beastie Boys, Foo Fighters, etc (in fact, the latter three are collectively bigger than the former).
That being said, I tend to agree with those who think the move to two weekends was to increase their budget so they CAN book a headliner roster like '08 again (post Prince addition, of course). The bottom half of acts will not be paid double, and so if the budget is even just doubled for booking then that should free up more money to pursue the big dogs.
Therefore although I'm pretty sure about a number of undercard acts, I'm not going to make any headliner predictions until we see the headliner standard for two weekends of Coachella.
The Rolling Stones will begin their 50th anniversary tour at Coachella. This will be obvious in a few months. If Daft are ready, they will be there...same with The Knife. No Radiohead. That's all I have.
i think people call her names because she does things like say the Rolling Stones and Daft Punk would be there last year, change her mind 1 day before the lineup comes out, and then talk about how "accurate" she is.
@5:41 What the FUCK could be more epic than Radiohead AND Pearl Jam at Chella?!
@9:28 Dude. GOLDENVOICE WAS WORKING ON THE STONES and they WERE going to be there. I know their road manager. Mick wanted MORE money and they just were not ready yet with a new tour. It just fell apart. Anyone that knows anything, knows that that was GOING to happen.
Daft? I dont know for sure that they were asked, but many also say that they were asked too and they didnt just want to go out with the pyramid again and with some Tron soundtrack shit (that stuff did not go over as big as anyone in their camp thought it would and it was not the hit Disney thought it would be either. When they are ready, they are not going to go anywhere else in the US first than Coachella....why? Cause that re-emergence at Chella in 06 started the wave of their music that made them ICONS. They were already popular in this country, sure, but that performance has been talked about so many times since it happened, when they debuted that fucking pyramid, that it set forth a chain reaction of "hey, Daft Punk is fucking awesome!!" and it just did not stop. Before u know it they are at the Grammys with Kanye and just killing it everywhere. They WILL be back. They know what's up.
@anon928 and yet you are still here on her site. regardless what how you feel about her, you still show and check the comments. you're like all those idiots that attack CoS for being a copy and paste ripoff but then visit the site multiple times a day and turn them into a legitimate website.
if you hate her, go away. if people ignore her site, there's no more reason for her to continue adding content.
Some other bands that have released/will release albums this year include Arctic Monkeys, The Kooks, Mates of State, Death Cab for Cutie...these are probably all potential acts too, as they have all played the festival before but not since 2008 or earlier. Hoping for at least one or two of them!
Daft Punk was absolutely 100% asked last year. They said they were not ready yet.
They'll be back at Coachella at some point, but holding out for them every year just gets aggravating so I am deciding to not believe any of the rumors. If they show up on the poster, awesome. But I'm not going to expect them.
The theme of this blog seems to be listen to the "insider tips" that match up what you want to be there, and ignore/scoff at the "insider tips" that contradict what you want.
Here's a hint: NOBODY posting anonymously on this blog has real insider information. Monklish clearly has sources in bands/booking agencies, but nobody inside GV due to huge headliner inaccuracies and she gets most of her undercard info from the Coachella board regulars.
This is a fun space for speculating but I'm not counting on anything until the actual poster comes out.
In response to the new set posters, too many big names on the second name. Remember they made that a lot less stacked this year. The Stones, Pulp, The Knife, plus two Sasquatch-level headliners is too big for a single day. Pulp would not accept a billing lower than #2, also. Interesting concept of acts being mixed up on the two weekends, though.
geez people. i never said i hated her. i don't care what deals almost went through. i come here because most of her undercard is right, but she's not right about the headliners. FACT she said the Cure and McCartney would def not be there in 09, FACT she said the Stones and Daft last year and Kanye would not.
I'm not saying I hate her or ripping on her for pointing out facts. In fact, if you read my post (anon 928) you'll see that I said "other people hate her because".
get over yourselves and get over her. She's one source I use to figure out who's playing. By using her and like 5 other sources I get a decent idea of who the healdiners will be.
I think everybody is hoping her insider source for Daft/Stones was half correct and that they were in negotiations for THIS year, not last. And by everybody I mean me.
@2:41 - what are the 5 other sites u go to for finding out who is going to play? anyone know of any other ones than Monklish's site? i want to know all of them!!
With the announcement of radiohead at Glastonbury , I'd say that Coachella could have them wrapped up already and they are one of maybe 2-3 bands that could help sell out 2 weekends.
^ oh man how I hope so. I mean, Glastonbury is known to pay cheap. Coachella can definitely get Radiohead. The question is, are Radiohead willing to play the two weekends . .
The Knife, BECK, NIN!, The Flaming Lips, Tool, how to destroy angels, james murphy and pat mahoney, Cat Power, TV on the Radio, IAMX, van she, blonde redhead, broken bells, Cocorosie, lady tron, man man, Maus Haus, micachu, the notwist,oOoOO, Royksopp, the shortwave set, Todos tus Muertos!!,
11:50 Here-Living in the Inland Empire(760,951,& 909 area codes) you encounter a lot of people who work for Golden Voice that give you clues about the headliners. That’s how I am 100% positive about U2!
@12:36 - No the only other thing that I've heard is that they are 78% capacity for both weekends...so be ready to scramble for tickets when they are released with the lineup.
If Radiohead isn't there this year, in all honesty it is an epic fail. That is what the people want and deserve. They are the best band of a generation. Please Coachella deliver.
^What if you are retarded. The offer would be multi-million dollar in size, they would play for that. Maybe you wouldn't because you have shit for brains.
They are a band and a business. You don't think they still feel honored to play a huge festival? You are a dumb ass. The internet is a good place for idiots like you to hide. Although Im amazed you can work a key board.
met a dude from GV he said that its not insane what they got i said what do u mean he said they already know that friday is Beastie Boys, Sat is Coldplay and Sunday is going to be a reunion but they dont know which one yet
I meet a guy from GV last night. We had sex so he could tell me what the headliners would be. He said that they got all three already. They got: Coldplay, Pink Gloyd, and Radiohead. He also said that Daft punk will be sharing tge headlining spot with Coldplay like they did with Kanye and The Strokes. He mentioned, Phoenix, Portishead, Morrissey, Aphex Twin and Mazzy star. That's all I know.
my nephew is a paperboy on paul tollet's route and when he had to go apologize for breaking a window before ringing the doorbell, he overheard someone inside the house screaming "WE GOT BOWIE AND PULP! SUNDAY NiGHTS, BITCHEZ!" Make of that what you will.
Radiohead will play about 30 songs, and about 8-10 of them will be new songs. What makes you think they'll play anything less, when they've been playing 8-10 new songs off of their newest album for about 10 years, I'd like to know.
Also, I met someone from GV at a bar last week who told me the ghost of John Lennon was confirmed for Sunday night.
@anon 7:09 and what say you bout Animal Collective last year? QOTS at least get some radio play and a new album is in the works, makes sense to me they would be billed that high
@9:29 Having so many of those overplayed, been-everywhere-in-2011 acts like Florence and the Machine, Death Cab for Cutie, TV on the Radio, Bon Iver, My Morning Jacket, Fleet Foxes would be incredibly boring. It would still sell well since people are dullards, though.
first and foremost no Daft Punk in 2012, 2013 looking more probable.....
So it looks like GV is going with 4 "headliners" once again..or at least 4 names in the big font...so two of them i can confirm being:
NO DOUBT and COLDPLAY have been signed on since shortly after this last year's fest
The other two will emerge from a pool of the following: Foo Fighters Beastie Boys My Morning Jacket Radiohead Outkast(seriously) Beyonce Red Hot Chili Peppers
As has been stated Paul Tollett wants to avoid reapeat headliners, so thru the power of deduction we can come to conclude that that statement is partially true.

The Velvet Underground

Pink Floyd
Talking Heads
Led Zeppelin
David Bowie
@Thom Yorke once I hear anything I will start the blog back up again. I am certain that they have at least one or two of the headliners booked, otherwise, they would not be selling tickets today.
Beirut, Underworld
My predictions for 2011 headliners
Foo Fighters
Radiohead
The Rolling Stones
I know it seems top heavy but with the two weekend format they are going to need at least one major headliner to sell all these tickets
They actually don't need hefty headliners. They sold about 40,000 tickets since this morning. Expecting another 50,000 by Monday morning. 60% sold out after the first weekend with twice as many tickets available is damn impressive.
Hey Monk,
What My Morning Jacket as Friday headliner?
If MGMT, Vampire Wekeend, Hot Chip, etc are stinking up the place yet again, I'm going to piss in the Fresher's.
Monk, do you think Coldplay will headline?. .
Monklish, have a couple questions for you.
What's the word on Pulp next year?
maaan Radiohead is starting to feel like the Arcade Fire/Muse/Killers "sure bet" this year. Maybe I'm just buying into everyone's wishlist like i do every year.
Black Baptista. No serious rock band since these guys came on the scene this May. Insanely good. http://www.blackbaptista.com. Guitarist is really well know I think. Found them on Facebook this week.
daft punk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
come out of hibernation now!
i would love to know if they are playing
first weekend is VERY close to selling out...you were warned.
I wish people would stop with the "Daft Punk!" already.
Daft punk!
Beastie Boys, The Pixies!!
Kraft Punk!
MONK!
Tell us something. Please :)
Monkie,
is it possible the names you listed for 2011 and didnt make it on the line up, were probably meant for 2012? Looks like the plans for tivo-chella were started in mid 2010.
TiVo-chella?
Neutral Milk Hotel reunion??
My Morning Jacket are NOT headliners. Jesus fucking Christ.
Yay! ^
They must go though.
My Morning Jacket
Outkast
Radiohead
Beastie Boys- Friday
Radiohead- Saturday
Daft Punk- Sunday
this would be absolutely EPIC
Friday:
Coldplay
Saturday:
Beastie boys (Daft punk closing or not)
Sunday:
Radiohead
*the more realistic line up
why do people want to see Beastie Boys so bad? Do you really want to hear songs about hot sauce all day and fighting to party? Come on, they are a joke. I'd be disappointed to see them headline.
I really dont hope that the beasty boys headline.
But we have to be realistic, they are headliner material.
Some people hate them, and some people love them.
& it's most likely going to happen. .
The Knife are booked for both weekends.
What is the word on pulp?
wishing for floyd zeppelin and daft punk. id kill myself after because nothing again would ever be as good
My Morning Jacket aren't headliners?
My Boring Jacket
They can't even headline outside lands. Why the fuck would they headline coachella?
MONK!
Tell us something :)
@James The Cure headlined Sasquatch in 2008.
From a percentage number, how likely is Radiohead
Going to be at Coachella 2012?
So, because My Morning Jacket headlined Sasquatch that means they can headline Coachella?
I guess that means WEEN can headline Coachella too.
I am starting to think Pearl Jam will be there
Pearl Jam IS going to be there. Its going to be:
FRI: Daft Punk/ My Morning Jacket
SAT: Justice / David Bowie
SUN: Neil Young / Pearl Jam
not bad, that might be it. but i am thinking it is:
FRI: Beastie Boys
SAT: Radiohead
SUN: TOOL
u are ALL WRONG
it is
without a doubt...
FRIDAY: Coldplay
SATURDAY: Radiohead
SUNDAY: Lady Gaga
I would be very, very happy if that ^ was the lineup.
If Lady Gaga closes coachella, I will run onto stage and take a dump. So many people would leave it would be embarrassing. She is complete Trash
Headliners:
Bjork
Radiohead
REM
Plus Pulp, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, A Tribe Called Quest, Justice, The Knife, Feist, Patti Smith, How to Destroy Angels, Underworld
http://i55.tinypic.com/2udw4k7.jpg
^ Day 1 is fucking terrible outside of Underworld.
Even though I'm not too happy about the Foo's or the
Beasties Boys.
Great fake lineup though.
The knife*
Justice*
Radiohead**********
Pulp*
nice overall.
you people have low expectations for coachella. if 2 of the 3 headliners end up being foo fighers, beastie boys, lady gaga, my morning jacket, coldplay....it is going to be one weak year.
i feel like all of those except coldplay are subheadliners.
I want Teebs.
@ 6:43
I actually agree with you. I just really hope they actually got/get Radiohead. What do you think?
& also, what undercar acts you think are going forsure?
DAAAAAAAAAFFFFFFFFFTTTTTTTTT PUNNNNNNNNNKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
but really... daft punk.
and monk tell us something u lazy cunt
i dont care if its.. 'havent heard anything yet'
but tell us something
why do u guys call her names? she is so cool to even run this thing, i just dont get it...she makes it fun, it feels like gambling...cunt? really?
lol@coachella booking Lady Gaga. What a joke.
The Knife will be there.
^ Haven't heard that one before.
my bartender who just started working for me was fired from GV. This is what he knows:
Fri is Velvet Underground
Sat is Pearl Jam
and Sunday is Radiohead.
He said subs are The Knife, Pulp, Tribe Called Quest, The Rapture, TV On The Radio, Justice and Underworld and Mazzy Star
sounds pretty awesome and why they are so confident to do two wknds
why hasnt The Melvins ever done Chella btw??
^^ dont belive you. i think this year should and will be more epic than that.
The Rolling Stones will begin their 50th anniversary tour at Coachella. This will be obvious in a few months. If Daft are ready, they will be there...same with The Knife. No Radiohead. That's all I have.
^
Oh no. .
Monk, what do you think about Radiohead @ Coachella?
i think people call her names because she does things like say the Rolling Stones and Daft Punk would be there last year, change her mind 1 day before the lineup comes out, and then talk about how "accurate" she is.
^truth
DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT RADIOHEAD GOING OR NOT?
anything?. .
RADIOHEAD WILL NEVER PLAY ANOTHER LIVE SHOW. sad but true.
Good riddance. Radiohead doesn't need to play again, their shows are repetitive, they've lost their edge.
Beep beep click click.
They don't deserve a headlining spot anymore, it's over.
Cool story, bro.
MONK!
Where are you?. . .
first http://i51.tinypic.com/34o831y.jpg
second http://i53.tinypic.com/jue9hl.jpg
your welcome
^I think you probably have one headliner right, but besides that WRONG
Hi im Justina Bae
when they do the headliner announcement in August, Radiohead better be one of the three names.
I really think we are going to get Triple R's:
RHCP
Radiohead
Rolling Stones
All make sense, and you can't argue with that lineup
@Anon 7:52
Headliner Announcement in August?
WTF are you talking about?
@2:41 so what have heard then?
@Anon 2:41
Maybe you should start a prediction blog and we can all go there and insult you. Douchebag.
someone made a cool poster prediction game
www.coachellarecordings.com/wishingwell/
I think everybody is hoping her insider source for Daft/Stones was half correct and that they were in negotiations for THIS year, not last. And by everybody I mean me.
I vote for the year of the heads.
Portishead
Radiohead
Talking Heads
Don't be surprised by the take over:
Coldplay
*U2 (already booked)
The Stones
^ source for u2!? i call bs not big enough for 2 weekend headliner
i vote daft punk
with blur saying they might play some north american shows next year is there any word that they might include Coachella in those tentative plans?
@12:01, did u really just say that U2 is NOT big enough to be a headliner for 2 wknds??? HAAAA
they are HUGE
@11:50 - prove how u know U2 is already booked??
@2:41 - what are the 5 other sites u go to for finding out who is going to play? anyone know of any other ones than Monklish's site? i want to know all of them!!
u2 is NOT a headliner.. bono sucks dick
The question is, are Radiohead willing to play the two weekends . .
Talking Heads
Foo Fighters
Outkast
kid cudi
fleet foxes
my morning jacket
anyone but radiohead, most overrated band ever
@11:00 They played All Points West two days in a row so I don't see why not.
Monk, anything?. .
stevie wonder
@ 11:55
So no Radiohead?
Have you "heard" anything else?
@12:36 - No the only other thing that I've heard is that they are 78% capacity for both weekends...so be ready to scramble for tickets when they are released with the lineup.
NEW ORDER.
THE BRAVERY
Daft and Radiohead are confirmed.
lol at fake monk
BALLS SMALL COCK LARGE
If Radiohead isn't there this year, in all honesty it is an epic fail. That is what the people want and deserve. They are the best band of a generation. Please Coachella deliver.
no the people want daft punk ! this will start off the Apocalypse tour!
What if Radiohead doesn't want to play, shit head? Ever think of that? What if they're busy doing other things?
IMPOSSIBLE, I know.
Radiohead did glastonbury as a way to experiment with performing the new songs live. Clearly a tour is coming sometime in the near future.
I hope not, the new songs suck.
They don't deserve a headlining spot.
^they don't deserve a headlining spot??
You don't deserve air to breathe
If Radiohead headlines I guarantee only 4 songs max off the new album would be played.
Force Radiohead to play.
Bands have turned down Coachella before dummy.
It's not unreasonable to think Radiohead can turn it down as well.
met a dude from GV
he said that its not insane what they got
i said what do u mean
he said they already know that friday is Beastie Boys, Sat is Coldplay and Sunday is going to be a reunion but they dont know which one yet
^people who work for GV can't just yell people who they have especially this early. They wouldn't keep their jobs. Fail
Where did Blur say they were going to play North America?
Outkast?
Ok you killed it ^
If Radiohead plays, they'll probably play all of their new album.
^when there albums had 12-15 songs each. I'll give u 6 max on q night to night basis.
^In Rainbows had 10 songs, not 12-15.
King of Limbs has 8, plus Staircase, plus Super Collider and the Butcher.
Playing 25 songs, and about 8-10 of those 11 being played seems right.
^Also Kid A has 10, Amnesiac 11. 12-15 songs has been the outlier, not the norm, for Radiohead albums.
Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beyonce, Coldplay are headlining.
^ That's disgusting.
^^makes me want to vomitando
BEASTIE BOYS, Queens of the Stoneage, Florence and the Machine, Justice, Adele, At the Drive- In, Beirut, DJ Shadow

It's going to be awesome when David Bowie NEVER plays. He sucks live anyway.
Monk, what are the possibility of the Pixies playing?
Queens of the Stone Age can't draw enough people to fill a venue that holds more than 2000 people. How are they a second-billed act?
@anon 7:09
and what say you bout Animal Collective last year?
QOTS at least get some radio play and a new album is in the works, makes sense to me they would be billed that high
QOTSA are more than capable of subheadlining.
I think so, and i think my stab at the top tier acts is absolutely plausible
And would be suffecient to sell out two weekends
Bank
@9:29
Having so many of those overplayed, been-everywhere-in-2011 acts like Florence and the Machine, Death Cab for Cutie, TV on the Radio, Bon Iver, My Morning Jacket, Fleet Foxes would be incredibly boring.
The other two will emerge from a pool of the following:
Foo Fighters
Beastie Boys
My Morning Jacket
Radiohead
Outkast(seriously)
Beyonce
Red Hot Chili Peppers
As has been stated Paul Tollett wants to avoid reapeat headliners, so thru the power of deduction we can come to conclude that that statement is partially true.
Ill update as more info fleshes out.

•years on hiatus
•popular/recognizable enough to help sell out two weekends.
•New headliner
