Who are your headliners at the moment, Monk?
leaning towards? Educated guess?
monk..this is very disappointing :(
This depends on what is disappointing you. You should tell everyone to leak better information or ask Coachella to book a better lineup.
@4:11pm You are too quick.
@Walter J My educated guess is it will be acts with albums to promote (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Bjork) more than those that don't have an album out, yet (No Doubt, Daft Punk).
Any word on Queens of the stone age or Sigur Ros?
As far as headlining goes, I'm grateful for Radiohead. What about bands like Yeasayer, Beach House, Grizzly Bear, Fleet Foxes.
why are the naked and famous still listed? they are playing other shows all thru weeknd 1.
Have u heard anything on The Knife Monk?
whats the reasoning behind pulp
Monk, Naked and Famous. Not happening. Really. At least not for Weekend 1.

I don't understand how Paul Tollett saying the lineups for both weekends will be identical isn't enough to make people realize the lineups for both weekends will be identical.

@10:55 There's a lot of "not going to happen" in that list.
way to pick a group of awful headliners and then copy monks mediocre list into your "other notables"
if that was the lineup it would be a very disappointing year.
I keep waiting for something that will bring me back for at least one weekend...this continued disappointment will not do it!
Not playing:
Kings of Convenience

Odd Future and Yeasayer
Well done 1036.
the roots should be there. their album is coming out dec 6th. they should back outkast and perform together. one can only hope...
daft punk
if all of these are correct so far, then we are in for another great Coachella! if youre disappointed by the list then you dont know music because that list crosses all great genres/subgenres of music
The 2012 Primavera Sound festival has added the xx, Death Cab for Cutie, Beach House, Wilco, Washed Out, Spiritualized, Explosions in the Sky, the Walkmen, the Dirty Three, Archers of Loaf, the Drums, Godflesh, the Olivia Tremor Control, Shellac, and many more acts to its lineup. The acts will join a previously announced lineup that includes Björk, Neutral Milk Hotel's Jeff Mangum, Guided by Voices, Yo La Tengo, the reunited Codeine, Neon Indian, and more.
There's a good possibility some of these acts will be at Coachella.
there's a good possiblity you're a fucking idiot.
What makes you think LMFAO will be @ Coachella in 2012?
2nd Coachella for Foster the People?
Do you think there's a possibility The Weeknd or Mayer Hawthorne will be on this lineup?
DAFT PUNK!! :D
get lit get lit lit lit
Coachella really needs to pull out all the stops to make the two-weekend thing a success. A LOT is riding on this, and for that, there won't be as many repeating headliners (maybe one, and probably Radiohead). So from a business standpoint, there is only one other band who will be touring next year that can guarantee a large draw both weekends (and who has not played Coachella before). Girls and boys, I give you one of the non-repeat headliners for 2012: The Rolling Stones. And I'm not even a Stones fan, but they do make the most business sense. And probably will be there.
Headliners : Rolling Stones
Daft Punk
Radiohead
Subs : My Morning Jacket
No Doubt
Pulp
Foo Fighters stopped trying and have gone into full-on Nickelback mode. What a shame.
Monklish, as someone who posts on here who NEVER says mean things about u or the site, as I LOVE it and you, will u please do what u have done before and BOLD the ones that are new? some of us are not as nerdy as the others and we don't quite know which ones u just added and which ones u did not. please? ;)
Looks like we are getting Coldplay !

Coldplay / Bojork / Radiohead
Headliners set.
wow, some guy at a radio station tweeted
stop the fucking presses
107.7 The End. Your Number 1 source for Coachella news and information coming to you live from sunny Seattle, Washington. Coming up next we got a live in-studio performance by the "You heard them here first" Foster the People.
I also heard from the WYSP 94.1 straight outta Philly rock station Twitter feed that No Doubt and Radiohead are confirmed.
Take it to the bank!
kasabian blows
I just want Aphex Twin and a few other decent acts and I'll be happy.
Monk, I can now confirm:
Coldplay
Insane Clown Posse
Duncan Sheik
Please add these to you list.
Thank you,
The REAL Walter J

PRETTY LIGHTS
This just in guys. LMFAO is one of the headliners:

November 30, 2011 2:28 PM"
- YOU'RE a fucking idiot. That guy has a point nonetheless.
The bankable headliners to ensure a sellout of both weekends:
Coldplay
Rolling Stones
Radiohead
Think "business" not "want."
Radiohead is a big enough headliner to sell out two weekends.
Coachella will sell out regardless. Look at the expected lineup. They don't "need" The Rolling Stones as a business tactic to sell out. Although it would be incredible and I hope!
It's Radiohead-Bjork-Coldplay. If you don't think this will sell tickets, you are a fool.
Are the Rolling Stones even touring next year? Everything I'm reading says they aren't.
So how disappointed is everyone going to be if it isn't Radiohead?
so damn fucking disappointing.
aphex twin has to be there
monk, do you think aphex twin will play?
Rolling Stones make business sense? How does GV burning a shitload of thier budget on one artist make business sense? The number thrown around in the past was 5 million, I cant even imagine the 2 weekend figure.
Lets be real people, Radiohead is the only "get" that headline this year. Artists like Daft, The Stones, The Wall, etc don't really make sense with the whole two weekend setup. Those groups are either too expensive for that to happen or value their rarity too much. Even with Radiohead on a huge tour that will double both as the KoL tour and a tour for new material I would have counted them out if their tour dates didn't essentially lock them in.
No one has any idea on the headliners besides Radiohead. Monk has no idea, hence the lack of headliners going into December. Boardies are claiming Bjork but other than the fact she has no LA residency date shes a total toss up. Its going to be two from the group of No Doubt, Coldplay, RHCP and the Foo. It sucks but it's reality. Coachella doesnt need special acts to sell out anymore and it'd be much easier to get Colplay and the RHCP to play back to back weekends vs some special act like Waters or Daft. Here's to a good undercard because the days of the legit headliner are dead.
^ i would agree except all the headliners were legit last year. i too wanted to hate on kings of leon just like everyone else but come showtime i checked them out and they actually put on an amazing show. Caleb has a very unique voice for live shows. Also Kanye West wasnt a douche during his show like everyone thought.. and Arcade Fire.. well everyone knew they would be amazing. i still have faith in coachella to produce good headliners. heres to the possibility of RogerWaters/DaftPunk/Radiohead for 2012
Kanye blew his load too early with an impressive start and a forgettable rest. Squandered potential for guests and not even a live band. Why? Miss Narcissism wanted it to be all about him. And if you didn't want to watch Kanye and weren't a raver, you had no other options that night.
KoL was a festival also-ran, and I've heard the show was decent but nothing special. That's not the issue here, the real point is that they were nothing special as a booking. Arcade Fire put on an unreal show, but they were in the same boat having played a handful of other festivals the previous year. Kanye was the real get but a lot of people hate him, thus detracting from him being a real "wow" headliner. (Personally I love him and thought that set was amazing). Its not a knock on the quality of the performance it has more to do with how rare/unique the booking is. That was what made Coachella so special in the past. I hate Bjork but she would be a pretty legit get for Coachella because she rarely plays the US. Obviously the Stones and Waters play all over but they are rock gods and their presence at a festival is unique in unto itself. And I don't even need to go into how epic getting the robots back on the fields would be. There just isnt a large variety of headliners when you factor in who is available each year. Coachella has reached a certain popularity just as a name brand that GV doesn't have to waste the time or resources to go out of their way and to fight and claw for a new Daft tour or to fit the Wall to the main stage when Coldplay is starting their tour and will sell ticket just as easily. It really just comes down to how popular Coachella has become in its own right and as long as GV books acts that are at least popular currently they can be successful without the rare names now, a luxury that wasn't the case in the past.
^ DIE OF COCKS.
^What a delightful death that would be :0
Any chance for Outkast?
^not at all.
What about roger waters??? Is there a chance?
^ nice try Roger Waters
yeezy was so sick last year i wish he would come back but maybe weezy or chingy>?
@1:41 You are sooooooo right. Coachella use to fight and claw to get headliners and undercard acts that no other festival would get. Now they settle for KOL, The KILLERS, Strokes, Etc. It has become they will get any popular act just to sell tickets, which is one of the main reasons my 6 year love affair with Coachella is over. While 2011 was an improvement on 2010 (B.A.D. , Suede, Kills, etc.) it is already looking weak for this year with the typical Radiohead, Bjork, RHCP, etc. So long Coachella is use to be fun. Time to turn it over...
^^^ Roger Waters is playing the coloseum within a few weeks of Coachell - why would he play ?
Coachella will sell out no matter who headlines. They will become like Glastonbury where the tickets sell out before they announce a lineup.
NO RHCP

@225 but I saw it this morning.
if it was real more than a single person on the most lie filled blog in america would be talking about it
conservapedia is kinda like a blog...
Bjoradioheadaft
The Dresden Dolls are playing.
Jay Z Played staples prior to Coachella. Go fish.
The Warriors are playing the Clippers at the Oracle Arena on 4/18.
If you're gonna lie at least be good at it.
Jay-Z was a backup option after The Who and David Bowie fell through.
^ You can't prove that
NONE of you have insider information. It's silly to assume anyone on this fucking blog does...
I do but I simply refuse to share it
No you don't.
Not a single person in the world is connected to anyone affiliated with Goldenvoice, nor any artist or record label or booking agency.
Especially not in this blog.
Yes, the time of connected people is actually valuable.
I beg to differ. I'm quite connected, and my time is often quite wasted. You don't have to work for Goldenvoice to know what's going on.
@ anon 9:05
Oh, I do. You are clearly jelly
All bullshit. It's me and only me.
Radiohead is a replacement headliner for No Doubt.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
^Is a replacement for No Doubt :)
LMFAO will headline.
Watch the mother fucking Throne son!
Bet Sleigh Bells is there, they will have a new album in early 2012
http://www.earmilk.com/2011/12/02/sleigh-bells-annouce-new-album/
Sleigh Bells suck
@1205 Wrong, Gorillaz was a backup option after the Who fell through. Bowie never considered doing it.
Funny how people who hate Coachella now because it was cooler 6 years ago still go to random Coachella blogs to post anonymously about how much they hate headliners that haven't been announced yet.
I seriously hate humanity sometimes.
And for the record, Coachella is a lot more about the undercard than the headliners, always has been, and their undercard kills any other festival in the US every single fucking year.
@ 5:32 PM
You suck.
Sleigh Bells = pure awesomeness
Sleigh Bells will not be there 3 years in a row. You are crazy
Yeah, pure awesomeness is making some pointless chainsaw noise for twenty minutes and then walking off stage.
@5:48, wrong. Gorillaz were signed before Jay-Z.
"Watch the Throne" is fucking awful. I miss the days when hip hop didn't suck.
fuck theklein25
Fuck headliners. Who's going to be the big undercards this year?
Talked to a few of my sources:
Coldplay
Soundgarden
Radiohead
Are Confirmed
10:35 raises a good point. They're what make Coachella so interesting.
Believe it! Sleigh Bells will be there this year.
Coldplay / No Doubt / Radiohead
Culture Club will be at Coachellas 2012. I guarantee it!
So, what about Mazzy Star?
Magic eight ball says yes.
105
Karma-Karma-Karma-Karma-Karma-Super Gay
LMFAO AT SOUNDGARDEN. No one even knows who they are.
Pearl Jam will headline 2013 celebrating the twenty year anniversary of the their show on the polo fields in '93 that started it all.
FACT.
I don't know if it's a fact but that would make sense.
Soundgarden was awful at Lolla.
I've heard this mentioned as well. Seems likely.
Foo Fighters Bjork Radiohead
No need to worry about a SLOW Soundgarden show at all.
Radiohead
No Doubt My Morning Jacket
Coldplay Justice
Radiohead/Bjork/Foos or Coldplay is definitely making the most sense right now. Probably 3 of those 4, or maybe Bjork and Foos sharing a day.
Bjork would be such an underwhelming headliner, hopefully she just subheadlines...
If you can't find anything else to fill your time while she's on stage then maye Coachella isn't for you. I love that if it is Foo Bjork Radiohead then I'll be able to explore 2 out of the 3 nights instead of being stuck at the mainstage.
EXACTLY! ^
LMFAO and Chris Cornell are subheadlining.
daft punk is headlining
Coachella 2012 will sell out both weekends in a matter of days. 100% guaranteed. buy your tickets asap. radiohead is the sunday closer. will be one of the biggest festival days in music history
Bjork sucks!
Have any of you who are ripping on Bjork ever seen her live? Or even listened to an album front-to-back? I'm just wondering. Her previous headlining gigs at Coachella were amazing.
Fuck me hard, that Sleigh Bells new song is sick. I just wet myself. And they WILL be at Coachella 2012.
Arctic Monkeys
Black Keys
Kid Cudi
Yeasayer
Go ahead and add them. Each are already locked up.
the black keys sucked this year
Yep, yet they'll be back again.
so this is the finalized lineup, granted any last minute adds this will be more or less the billing order. The poster will be like the 2008 version with no separate individual day breakdown.

maybe one of you creative types can give it a go and make a poster...
6:44 is another imposter.
Bjork is headlining, not No Doubt, and I stopped reading after the laughable inclusion of Incubus.
how is Incubus not probable? there is always an artist that you couldn't picture being at Coachella but yet get booked...Neon Trees anyone?
also, the list looks legit and plausible, and the headliners look about right with the exception of No Doubt what with all the Bjork rumors floating about but that is yet to be seen....
all in all I'd be happy with that lineup.
Plus the Black Keys, Creators Project isn't listed. :)
I guess they'll announce their April west coast stadium dates w/ Arctic Monkeys after the lineup is released.
716 is definitely a douche and posted the lineup.
Incubus is too popular for such a low billing.
7:20 is 7:16 and now an even bigger douche
hey monk any word of ghostland observatory showing up this year on the lineup?
id love to see them on the main stage or headling the sahara tent.
if the Black Keys returned wouldn't they be headliners or co-headliners?
^headliners
possibility for this year however unlikly due to them playing and headlining the kroq christmas show
Daft Punk will never headline Coachella. Ever. You will never get to roll and dance to "One More Time" live ever, EVER. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. NOT EVER, NEVER.
^ already did back in 07'... and i didnt just roll i candy flipped.
06, stupid
@coachella friend:
Daft Punk did Coachella in 2006, not 2007. And it wasn't even a headlining set. So shut up. Your argument is invalid and therefore void of any substantial importance or credibility.
