@608 I have no insider information, and I also would love to see Wilco (and plan to at the Palladium), but their slew of SoCal dates so close to Coachella makes them unlikely...not sure how the previous poster knew for a fact, though.
^ anon 12:34 you are a fuckin tard. The band admits they don't like Pablo Honey and aren't happy with it, why do you think they almost Never play a song from that album.
I was the one that posted I like the old Radiohead stuff better. I did NOT say I want to hear Creep. Although I would take Creep or anything on Pablo Honey over any song on the new one.
I hate the dickhead radiohead fans that think they can do no wrong. Ever. For the record - I do own all their cds and extra ep's and singles. I've seen them in So Cal for every tour since The Bends was released. Many times seeing every show that was in LA. I'm not a casual newbie fan. I'm sure i've invested more $$ into them that either of you. And my opinion is that the new album sucks. Its Tom's solo album part 2. I don't like it.
There are two camps of Radiohead fans. Those who were around pre-Kid A, and those post. Anyone who saw the band that toured for the Bends/Computer is acutely aware that they are not the same band today.
Don't judge those who can't relate. You can try and explain it, but it won't stick. Sometimes you just have to be there.
Radiohead is where they are because they didn't rehash the same garbage over and over. The Bends was awesome, Ok Computer is aweome, Kid A is better. I guarantee most people here were bitching about Kid A, and didn't come around to it until they saw the songs performed live. I did not love the King of Limbs when it came out, but damn, Bloom live is one of the best songs they do. Little by Litte, Super-fucking-Collider, Separator...I'd be disappoitned if they didn't play these songs they are so good live.
Some of us who have seen Radiohead a bunch don't want to see the same setlist every fucking tour. Quit your bitching and don't see Radiohead if you don't like their new stuff. Jesus Christ, we deal with this every fucking time Radiohead releases an album. 50% are like "this is the best ever" and 50% are like "this is the worst ever". It's fucking annoying. They're gonna play what they play.
^^^ You suck. And so did the NY setlists. And no I wasn't there. And after seeing the setlists i'm very glad I wasn't. Sure they can play whatever they want but you really think a majority of concert goers of ANY band want to hear new stuff only and virtually ignore there first 5 albums.
On the Hail to the Thief tour, Radiohead hardly played anything from Amnesiac. On the In Rainbows tours, Radiohead hardly played anything from Hail to the Thief. On the King of Limbs tour, Radiohead is still playing most of In Rainbows. Unpredictable.
not a giant radiohead fan but just speaking from a concert stand point, most bands dont play the exact same set at a small venue show as they do at a large festival.
So while I understand that radiohead is a does whatever it wants type of band, i feel like the crowd for the roseland shows are people who would shit themselves it it was 4 hours of thom screaming, whereas at a festival 25% of the people there may not even know whom radiohead is.
I woulndt worry about about the setlist, lets just hope they are there. And lets be real as long as they play Everyhting in its right place the show works.
The King of Limbs is brilliant. In my opinion. So I respect everyone elses opinion. In a recent interview with Ed he mentioned they Radiohead were planning on playing a lot of the newer material and other rarities. So on that note if we get a Radiohead set at Coachella we can expect to hear a bit of an unusual setlist. Thom also mentioned that they'll be going into the studio over winter so that's even more material we might hear on the next tour.
Radiohead is one of the greatest bands of our time and it's hard not to talk about them or hear about them. Soak it up.
I like the King of Limbs, especially live, but even I can admit that a crowd full of casual fans is not going to be down for a setlist like the ones from last month. Just because you worship the band and have seen them twenty times doesn't mean everyone else has. Radiohead being on the poster will generate tremendous excitement and help guarantee prompt sellouts for both weekends, but expect a restless crowd and a lot of internet whining after the fact.
The Stone Roses will NOT make their first show back at Coachella. It will be in Manchester, and then they will go on a world tour.
2012 Coachella Without a doubt...will be the final death knell for a weekend those who were there between 1 and 7,8 know about. Coachella is NOT the same fest it was then. It is now a frat fest, filled with drunk morons who only go because it is trendy. If only the lineups could revert back to those days, and we could get rid of all the assholes who have turned the best weekend of the year into a nightmare for those who love the music.
And by the way...if the lineup had Riannah, or whatever her name is, LAdy GaGa, and some othert useless act as the headliner, I wo1uld not be surprised.
@12:51 you my friend are exactly on point. The vibe has completly changed. Just look at the childish remarks on this blog and it just keeps getting worse. The only thing that will change it is not booking garbage like, Skrillex, Deadmau, KOL, etc.
Yeah if only Coachella would go back to headlining bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, Depeche Mode, Beastie Boys, Coldplay...that would sure drive the Frat Boys away. No Question.
All those acts (minus Skrillex) played during your so-called "Golden Age". So did all of last year's headliners, so did Muse, the Killers, the Cure...people just like to complain. I'm sure in 2006 people were saying "well this isn't as cool as it was in 2003".
Radiohead is a Radiohead. They are legends. If they come to Coachella 2012, they are not obligated to have a "fan-ready" setlist consisting of all of the classics. They could play "King of Limbs" from start-to-finish and a whole B-sides album and there would be nothing for you to say or do except to just not show up to their set. There really is no reason to complain.
And for those of you who are arguing about the NY setlist, you do realize that when a band is touring FOR an album...that they will usually focus on playing material FROM that album? Right? Okay. And Radiohead should be applauded for even having the brilliance and integrity to pick songs that will fit around the vibe that they themselves wish to create for each show. Get over it.
No one said they were obligated and I want no part of the Roseland setlist debate. Everyone enjoys diffrent music. All I'm saying is if they play a near 2 hour set at Coachella, there is a high liklihood that they mix in some more hits from previous albums than they would at other shows vs simply playing the King of Limbs and its Bsides. They dont have to play anything, I understand that but that doesnt mean that the setlist would flop in regards to the festival population as a whole if they didnt mix in at least some hits. And im not talking about "creep". When people say radiohead hits I never understand why peoples first argument is to cite creep as if that is their only hit or something.
@5:03 that's what I'm takin about, I could see that happening over two weekends but it might make more sence if Roger Waters was on Friday as a headliner instead of Sunday cause then they would have a whole week to get it set up right. Just a thought.
I saw the wall last year in anaheim from the third row and I've been to coachella 5 times. It's totally possible. I think you are hugely under estimating the main stage and how very capable it is. Also I was the one last year that said Chemical brothers would be on the mainstage when everyone was swearing it would be in the sahara.
^^ How many times do we have to go through this? Roger is retooling his Wall tour for outdoor venues. There's a million articles about it. And he's touring South America with the last date being in Brazil on 4/1. Roger isn't out of the question.
5:16, you are probably right. I don't think Roger will be there, but Friday would make more sense than Sunday. It's easier to tear the thing down than build it.
@503 Your Friday/Saturday headliners are bloody awful.
I'm a big fan but the Black Keys set was lackluster this past year. That and they have played all over SoCal since then. There is 0 chance they are there next year.
They were the main subheadliner last year and didnt have any new material when Paul booked the headliners. I can keep going on but there is really no scenario where the Black Keys headline next year. If their new CD is big then maybe they can get the Strokes spot in the future but no way next year. Id love to hear your rationale on why they would.
Everyone is 100% convinced that GV can just trot out the same crap and sell out 2 weekends. Foo, RHCP, Coldplay, No Doubt will be at most 2 of the 3 headliners. Someone from the more speculative group of Waters, DP, Radiohead, Stones, Outkast will be there to help make the 2 weekends a success.
@11:09 2011 sold out faster than ever with Kings of Leon, a few smaller to mid-level reunions but nothing major, and a larger than ever proportion of leftovers from 2010's competing festivals and Coachella '09.
They won't have Waters back this soon, you fools. He just played in 08, and Paul T made it clear that the festival headliners aren't trending young or old.
^ I don't think one classic headliner counts as trending old. He meant they weren't going to repeat situations like 09, where two out of the three were The Cure and Macca, or 11, where all four headliners appealed to a younger demographic. I think it'd be pretty hard to get three headliners where none of them lean either way
Everyone calm down about Rammstein. If you think about it, they would be a great and one of a kind addition to Coachella. One of every hundred of us have seem them before (I did at MSG and they were all fire and showmanship which equals a great show). You know they'll bring bigger fire and bigger dildos to an outdoor marquee festival. 75 mins of boom can't be all bad.
I agree, why are people complaining about Rammstein ?
I dont know them at all, but they just played MSG and I think the Forum in LA within the last year. So obviously they are pretty popular. Someone must like them if they get NO radio play at all and can play a basketball arena.
@7:02 AM KOL was shit but Arcade Fire were coachella darlings and Kanye was a huge draw.
I'll admit the lineup was weaker than normal last year but it was still playing off the popularity of the festival. If coachella was 1 weekend again this year I would agree that Coldplay, No Doubt and RHCP would sell it out in a day. But its not 1 weekend its 2 and 150,000 tickets need to be sold. If they trot out the same weak lineup as last year then weekend 2 will be very empty
There has been a significant change in the crowd over the last decade. The festival has shifted towards more of the frat party vibe. Friday's Sahara Tent lineup in 2011 was one of the worst booked stages for the festival, ever, but people freaked the fuck out because Odd Future said "fuck", Duck Sauce and A-Trak both did "Barbra Streisand". Music trends change over time, but in 5 years, they're going to look silly for having Empire of the Sun, Crystal Castles, Phantogram, Neon Trees, and Mumford and Sons as some of the gets.
Guys, Lollapalooza had Lady Gaga, Green Day, and Soundgarden headline in 2010. Glastonbury had Beyonce, Coldplay, and U2 this year. Bonnaroo had Eminem and Buffalo Springfield. If Coachella gets the same awesome acts year in and year out everyone complains it's "boring", but if they try new things it's "not as cool as it used to be."
If you look top to bottom (yes there are acts other than just the top 2 lines) Coachella probably had the best lineup of all the American festivals.
It's funny too because everyone is like "oh Coachella was so much cooler in 2004" but now if we get Radiohead again it's "waaaa waaa I don't like their setlists." Point is, you people will complain no matter what.
I think people are underestimating the number of people that will attend both weekends. All any out of towner needs to do is get a hotel in Palm Springs for a few days of relaxation, or at least a cheap motel in one of the nearby meth towns, from Monday-Wednesday and then come back for another four days of fun.
They are just gonna have a glorified Kroq show like they did last year except with even more Kroq influence just like ever year lately has been going. If you would all just think like that you could probably figure out the headliners and most of the supprring acts.
^Is Coachella going KROQ? Or is it the other way around? What's considered "indie" seems to be more and more "mainstream" these days. Remember when grunge and alternative were considered "underground"? Me either. Most people don't because it took over EVERYTHING so quickly. We're basically seeing the same now.

Seems like people are judging the festival in its entirety by the headliners alone. I will admit when I saw the headlining acts for 2011 I was a little pissed, but then started to read the undercard and was floored.
GV still knows to cater to a wide range of people. Get off your fucking high horses and shut the fuck up with all of your complaints till the lineup drops.
Here's the problem. Everyone thinks the festival lineup should look exactly how they want it to. It never will, so be happy with what you get cuz you know you're going
(unrelated note: the festival did used to be better - but I'm probably a little more cynical than I used to be too)
"Jane's Addiction the Chemical Brothers•My Morning Jacket•Florence & the Machine•Bon Iver•Skrillex•St. Vincent
Red Hot Chili Peppers Black Keys•Pulp•Rihanna•Fleet Foxes•Hot Chip•Beirut•Foster the People•Young the Giant
Foo Fighters-Justice Queens of the Stone Age•Iggy Pop & the Stooges•Sonic Youth•the Shins•Cypress Hill•Digitalism"
Jane's Addiction's star has fallen too far for them to headline. Justice co-headlining is laughable. Nobody cares about Cypress Hill anymore. The last thing this festival needs is another appearance from The Black Keys.
NO MORE RAP !!! Im tired of listening to the same old bull shit lyrics , and boom boom clap beats . Give me something with feeling , and harmony , an Artist , not some talentless punk standing on stage saying " put your hands up in the air "
Why doesn't Coachella just book Lil Wayne, Lady Googoo, and Beyonce and just admit they are total mainsteam at this point? Oh how I loved Coachella every year. Will someone look at the old Coachella line-ups, and create a new festival that while it may be filled with hipsters, it would also be worth going to once again.

I can see it now...RHCP, Rammstein, Radiohead, Hip-hop, Stupid dance and electronica, useless reunions, the latest hipster bullshit, and a lot of bands worth seeing on the undercard. If they would just go back to the old formula, instaed of trying to be everything for everyone it be worth a return to the desert. And for anyone who has their feelings hurt by another's opinion, grow the fuck up!
Coachella has never had a "formula" you moron. Music festivals are just more popular than they were in 2002. Get over it. Or don't and show up at Coachella with your arms folded and give people the stink eye.
Omg coachella is so mainstream with rap and hipster bands, what am is a true hipster supposed to do? Fuck coachella and their collection of 150 bands that just ooze commercialism, so terrible Go back to 2002 and kill yourself @657 you emo hipster fuck
and Walter J I hope you get hit by a car and your family gets aids
@3:50, no, a buttface is the person that takes the findings and leaks of others without giving credit, and then includes them in her accuracy percentage while removing her own wildly incorrect guesses a day before the lineup drops.
Seriously, Coachella needs to go back to headlining bands like Beastie Boys, RATM, RHCP, Depeche Mode, Coldplay...all those art-friendly indie bands.
Look what it's become...they just have super-MTV friendly acts like Animal Collective, the Chemical Brothers, Arcade Fire, Atoms for Peace, Leonard Cohen, the Strokes taking up the top 2 lines on the bill. Quite a fall.
I think people need to stop bitching when the lineup doesn't have their 10 favorite bands.
@508 Learn the word sarcasm. You are idiot if you think the first group are the artsy bands. Seriously, this isn't about sarcasm not translating. Coldplay is mainstream, Animal Collective is not, get it moron?
@512 Every semi-popular band in history has probably been on MTV at some point. I haven't watched the channel in 5 years so I couldn't tell you exactly who is, but I'm guessing Animal Collective and the Chems don't get regular MTV rotations, hence, not an MTV-born band.
I listened to it, but from what I've been hearing about them and their tour is that, they're doing Coachella and two other festivals at most. After that they're calling it quits for good.
anon@228 fails in so many different ways. The most obvious being that the lineup is already done and the set times don't get released until the week OF the festival.
Very few bands know what stage they're playing until shortly before the festival. Based on their contract's payment, they can have a decent guess if they're playing the main stage in the evening, but outside of obvious headliners/co-headliners/Sahara DJs, it's a total crapshoot. Anyone that lists a band playing the slot before the co-headliner and headliners is full of shit. To list bands even earlier in the day, full of more shit.
Animal Collective is MTV shit? Really? I'm surprised I haven't seen a beach montage on Jersey Shore set to "Summertime Clothes"
I will say, as much as you people complain about the stupidest shit, I always read this blog. It's like an episode of Jerry Springer...total garbage but extremely engaging. Thanks for that.
One thing all you people living in the past seem to forget is that music festivals have spiked in the past four or five years. Before, they were sort of a cool treat to have if you LIVED IN THE RIGHT PLACE. I'm from Boston, there ain't shit for festivals out there. Nowadays, people drop loads of money on tickets and traveling to ridiculous destinations to see Radiohead play for an hour and a half, or Kanye play a totally boring headlining set. Now, festivals are a lifestyle type thing....people will always go until 100 kids OD on X during Skrillex and festivals around the country shut the fuck down.
@Anon1100 I'm honestly shocked at the stupidity of people here. Seriously, if you think my post implied that Animal Collective is an MTV band and I'm saying Beastie Boys and Red Hot Chili Peppers are not you are a fucking moron. I cannot believe how many people misinterpreted my post already. I'm not kidding, I'm shocked by it. You people are fucking stupid.
I was being sarcastic. The first group was a group of MTV bands that used to headline Coachella, and I'm pointing out that just because Kanye West is on MTV now doesn't mean Coachella is selling out. They still get groups like Atoms for Peace, Animal Collective, Leonard Cohen, Arcade Fire, the Chems at the top of the mainstage. I'm shocked I have to explain this 2 days later. You people truly are fucking morons.
My point is that people complain about how Coachella used to be cool and now it's a frat-boy vibe. But they used to get bands like Beastie Boys, RHCP, Coldplay, RATM, etc to headline. THAT is a Fratboy vibe. This year's group of Animal Collective, Chems, Arcade Fire, Nosaj Thing, etc...there's plenty of non-frat-boy vibe shit there. So it's not the bands that are bringing the fratboy vibe, it's not the lineup. It's just that fratboys have always been there, are there now, and always will be. And people need to stop bitching about it. We always have a romanticized version of hte past.
If anything it just makes for fun people watching. Fratboys are idiots and it's fun to laugh at / make fun of them.. While still being able to enjoy good music all throughout the weekend.
In my three year coachella experience, every year has gotten better. If you did not enjoy yourself at coachella in 2011 something is wrong with you. The festival was absolutely amazing.
As someone that's attended every year, I know that you're being completely disingenuous to act like there's a comparison between the number of frat bros attending in the early years and now.
frat guys, hipsters, shut the fuck up. Coachella is not the only place these two things cohabit. Going to Coachella to watch people is the lamest fucking thing I've heard...unless it's a naked wizard. I've been going since 06 and not once have I worried about what the people around me are...except when there was a ridiculous amount of indian headdresses in 2010. People like anon @250 & 325...you are the problem if there is one.
Chella is still about music, regardless of whose on stage and in the crowd. It should be a time for everyone to come together.
I'm neither frat boy, nor hipster, but I must say hipsters bitch the most. It's also ironic to me that hipsters are all "unique" yet they all wear the exact same glasses, drink the same beer, yada, yada, yada. Where's the individualism in that?
I'd say in the past few years, there has been a lot more dumbass people (frat boys, sorority girls, hipsters, ravers, etc) showing up to Coachella. People that, because of their dumbs antics outside the fest, had the city of La Quinta trying to shut next years fest down. Thankfully that isn't happening.
That said, my biggest pet peeve, are the people that travel all the way to Indio just to hang out in the VIP area so they can feel cool and get the chance to hang out next to celebrities and celebutantes.

the newest radiohead cd is by far their worst cd. By far.
I'd rather have then not be there than play all of it and B sides and me wishing for some old songs the whole show.
Those last 2 NY show setlists were hideous.
But if you were at one of the new York shows, like I was, they put on an amazing show.

And for the record, the New York setlists were fucking amazing. Those who didn't think so probably weren't there.
^^^
You suck. And so did the NY
setlists. And no I wasn't there.
And after seeing the setlists i'm
very glad I wasn't. Sure they can play whatever they want but you really think a majority of concert goers of ANY band want to hear new stuff only and virtually ignore there first 5 albums.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Also Feist is subheadlining on one of the days.
On the Hail to the Thief tour, Radiohead hardly played anything from Amnesiac.
On the In Rainbows tours, Radiohead hardly played anything from Hail to the Thief.
On the King of Limbs tour, Radiohead is still playing most of In Rainbows.
Unpredictable.
why dont you all just stop talking about radiohead and listen to some other music for a while.
we played coachella in 04. we will not play coachella again, ever. give up.
See you at Bonnaroo.
not a giant radiohead fan but just speaking from a concert stand point, most bands dont play the exact same set at a small venue show as they do at a large festival.
Enlarged sweaty balls are locked in, they told me so
it's tHom yorke, dummy.

Give me back my "h", already.
No Doubt / Rihanna / Aphex Twin
Daft Punk / Phoenix / Skrillex
Radiohead / Pulp / Underworld
The King of Limbs is brilliant. In my opinion. So I respect everyone elses opinion.
In a recent interview with Ed he mentioned they Radiohead were planning on playing a lot of the newer material and other rarities. So on that note if we get a Radiohead set at Coachella we can expect to hear a bit of an unusual setlist. Thom also mentioned that they'll be going into the studio over winter so that's even more material we might hear on the next tour.
Radiohead is one of the greatest bands of our time and it's hard not to talk about them or hear about them. Soak it up.
RADIOHEAD IS THE BEST.
Hoping for Aphex Twin he's playing this weekend at Pitchfork's Paris Festival. Cross your fingers!
oh man, how i would hope for APhex Twin. Monk, what can you say about him?
You fucking haters.
Radiohead has evolved, you have not.
Have fun rolling in the sahara ill be front fucking row for radiohead on the main stage.
I like the King of Limbs, especially live, but even I can admit that a crowd full of casual fans is not going to be down for a setlist like the ones from last month. Just because you worship the band and have seen them twenty times doesn't mean everyone else has. Radiohead being on the poster will generate tremendous excitement and help guarantee prompt sellouts for both weekends, but expect a restless crowd and a lot of internet whining after the fact.
take all this boring bullshit to At Ease...
Thom Yorke and Cheesecake!
FIRST!
Friday: Radiohead/Death Cab
Saturday: RHCP/Rammstein
Sunday: Coldplay/Feist
Sahara: David Guetta, Justice, Swedish House Mafia, Skrillex
I hope Skrillex is on Saturday so they can complete the trifecta of shitty music.
I just dropped $6,500 on a Safari tent so I don't want to hear any talk of Rhianna, Jay Z, Kanye or Die Antword for that matter.
Looks like another unimpressive Coachella. One good (but played out) headliner, a masculine bro headliner and a feminine bro headliner.
No no no...
Wilco
Death Cab
Iggy (in any form)
QOTSA - really people?
Just a taste thing but keep the hip hop to a minimum.
Lady Gaga - again, really people?
Let's bring back the Coachella we all knew and loved from years one to about year seven.
More like headliners with bad current albums.
Not really looking forward to seeing Coldplay again. They really lost me after X&Y came out.
Red Hot Chili Peppers haven't had a good song since Red Hot Minute.
Radiohead's last two albums have been lackluster.
All haters can now have their say...
saw on twitter that rammstein is playing
@Jake L. You are fucking retarded.
@12:51 you my friend are exactly on point. The vibe has completly changed. Just look at the childish remarks on this blog and it just keeps getting worse. The only thing that will change it is not booking garbage like, Skrillex, Deadmau, KOL, etc.
@1251
Yeah if only Coachella would go back to headlining bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, Depeche Mode, Beastie Boys, Coldplay...that would sure drive the Frat Boys away. No Question.
@259
All those acts (minus Skrillex) played during your so-called "Golden Age". So did all of last year's headliners, so did Muse, the Killers, the Cure...people just like to complain. I'm sure in 2006 people were saying "well this isn't as cool as it was in 2003".
While there have always been shitty bands at Coachella, the festival vibe has survived them until recently.

MONK TELL US ABOUT DAFT POR FAVOR
I only wanna hear creep, creep
@5:03 that's what I'm takin about, I could see that happening over two weekends but it might make more sence if Roger Waters was on Friday as a headliner instead of Sunday cause then they would have a whole week to get it set up right. Just a thought.
Poor speculation.
Anyone who's seen the wall, knows that it would be near impossible to replicate at Coachella.
Next!
^^
How many times do we have to go through this? Roger is retooling his Wall tour for outdoor venues. There's a million articles about it. And he's touring South America with the last date being in Brazil on 4/1. Roger isn't out of the question.
5:16, you are probably right. I don't think Roger will be there, but Friday would make more sense than Sunday. It's easier to tear the thing down than build it.

@9:23 and 9:39 you are wrong and they are picking up more momentum every album.
Yup people said the same thing when the kings of Leon, jack Johnson and the killers headlined
Coachella is dead.
^
I don't think one classic headliner counts as trending old. He meant they weren't going to repeat situations like 09, where two out of the three were The Cure and Macca, or 11, where all four headliners appealed to a younger demographic. I think it'd be pretty hard to get three headliners where none of them lean either way
Rammstein is confirmed
Rammstein?! Now Coachella is really dead.
The bands dont matter anymore. Its cool to go to festivals,so it will sell out so people can say they went on thier twitter and facebooks.
dude at 10:29 yesterday is correct. Rammstein is closing out the main stage due to their large stage show, but RHCP is still headlining.
source: my roommate works for aeg
Everyone calm down about Rammstein. If you think about it, they would be a great and one of a kind addition to Coachella. One of every hundred of us have seem them before (I did at MSG and they were all fire and showmanship which equals a great show). You know they'll bring bigger fire and bigger dildos to an outdoor marquee festival. 75 mins of boom can't be all bad.
^^^^
I agree, why are people complaining about Rammstein ?
I dont know them at all, but they
just played MSG and I think the Forum in LA within the last year. So obviously they are pretty popular. Someone must like them if they get NO radio play at all and can play a basketball arena.
"Coachella is dead"
"Coachella was so much cooler x amount of years ago."
Fucking hipsters.
I hope Rammstein does his cover version of Depeche Mode's "Stripped". It's one of the funniest things I've ever heard. "Come wit me, into da twees."
@7:02 AM
KOL was shit but Arcade Fire were coachella darlings and Kanye was a huge draw.
We're basically seeing the same now.

tl;dr
@10:20 cool story bro
I'm sorry, but Rammstein suck. I'd rather listen to Fran Drescher for an hour.
Whining little bitches.
Here's the problem. Everyone thinks the festival lineup should look exactly how they want it to. It never will, so be happy with what you get cuz you know you're going
(unrelated note: the festival did used to be better - but I'm probably a little more cynical than I used to be too)
@9:58
If it's anything close to that 2012 is going to be amazing.
@2:22 AM, the undercard was a huge letdown
@12:07
you probably went to see Kanye, cee lo and thunderbolt then. The undercard was awesome for 2011...Guess we'll have to agree to disagree
@12:59 PM, I didn't go at all. I invested that thousand dollar expense in seeing better bands.

Jane's Addiction's star has fallen too far for them to headline. Justice co-headlining is laughable. Nobody cares about Cypress Hill anymore. The last thing this festival needs is another appearance from The Black Keys.
A$AP rocky is officially playing Coachella next year. He said that himself in this interview:

A$AP Rocky = more stupid hip=hop bullshit...just what Coachella needs to put its self to rest. First Odd Future last year, and now this joke.
NO MORE RAP !!!
Im tired of listening to the same old bull shit lyrics , and boom boom clap beats .
Give me something with feeling , and harmony , an Artist , not some talentless punk standing on stage saying " put your hands up in the air "
Where is all of this talk about The Knife coming from? Is there any reason at all people think they will play?
@12:31, new album next year.
@ 147 - you're an idiot
The headliners dont make or break the whole show.
Hip hop/rap have always been present at Coachella. Get fucked.
Spoke with Heems from Das Racist last night. They are locked!!! Looks like you'll have to deal with more hip hop...

RHCP and lots of hip hop, well, that's going going to pull in an attractive crowd. Maybe the Rammstein crowd and them can have a rumble.
No, the last post was real. And who is Gus? You trolls usually try and steal my name.
Coachella has never had a "formula" you moron. Music festivals are just more popular than they were in 2002. Get over it. Or don't and show up at Coachella with your arms folded and give people the stink eye.

Silly anonymous. By coming here and posting where it was found first you're just boosting monklish's page.
@4:44
I'd rather see those "Mtv" bands then those shitty art friendly bands.. esp coldgay
you like what i did there?! coldplay into coldgay!! you get it??? BECAUSE THEY ARE GAY!!!
@444 I've seen every act you listed on MTV...
Yikes
Word is Friday is going to be 90's night, with No Doubt, Pulp, Garbage on the main and Underworld in the Sahara.
Pulp are going to be on the Sunday night bill. They're playing a Coachella warm-up show on Friday in Pomona that weekend.
Seriously? Where did you hear that? If that is true, I am swapping for a weekend 2 pass.

@8:47pm I heard that too. Most likely at the Glasshouse like the Pixies, and other booked (big-name) Coachella bands have done before that.
Anon @5:08 & 5:12 are failures
It's November. New post soon I hope?
it's been like, 6 hours. calm down.
Stop impostering me!
Did anyone listen to Pulp's interview with Steve Lamacq, specifically the part that made touring America sound like hell?
I listened to it, but from what I've been hearing about them and their tour is that, they're doing Coachella and two other festivals at most. After that they're calling it quits for good.
They should do ATP or a similar type of event around Sheffield for the grand finale.
Sheffield? Kind of like an American saying...gosh, I hope they call it quits after a finale in Detroit.
detroit beats the shit out of whatever meth factory you're from.
You now can add Mindless Self Indulgence to the 2012 line-up. Fuck yes!
Imposter! We are playing The Gathering of the Juggalos!
David Guetta<Coldplay<Bon Iver<Florence + the Machine<Beirut<Young the Giant
Justice<No Doubt<Pulp<Fleet Foxes<Kid Cudi<Lykke Li
Radiohead<Modest Mouse<The Shins<Feist<Kaiser Chiefs< Tribe Called Quest
These WILL be the top billed acts on the mainstage. The remaining 2-3 acts to play earlier in the day are atill pending as are the exact set times.
im stoked for Kasabian! and Kaskade ;)
anon@228 fails in so many different ways. The most obvious being that the lineup is already done and the set times don't get released until the week OF the festival.
Good try though.
LOL and Tribe Called Quest playing that early not happening.
Who's talking shit on Detroit? Go fuck yourself, it does beat the shit outta your hill billy town.
Coachella needs Burial next year
They will be there
Florence & the Machine
Kasabian
Snow Patrol
Lucero
LIGHTS
^ Snow Patrol?! Now that was funny.
^ you added nothing to the conversation here so... thanks?
Anon @ 11:00
I really hope this means you're boycotting Coachella this year and sparing us of your shit attitude. Btw go OD on some E while you're at it.
and your reading comprehension is terrible
I heard that some bands and djs are playing.
Go Bang Your Mom is one of the bands.
Dj set
I'm not coming to this blog anymore.
You will be missed.
I thought you were leaving.
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHSNAP!
Fratboys have NOT always been there, its "epic" to go to festivals now so they show up.
The festival was absolutely amazing.
newfags ruin everything
There were frat boys there when I first started going in 2001.
How do I know this? I WAS IN A FRAT. They've always been there, always will be.
Revisionist hipster historians.
