@5:29 Those people suck.

Anonymous said...

Real celebrities hang out backstage.

Anonymous said...

They're a waste of space, and tickets. They're not there for the music or the festival experience.

Anonymous said...

@5:33 That's where one of the VIP locations is at.

Anonymous said...

Ummm......................blur

Anonymous said...

@5:37 The tour is tentative, so I don't see them playing next year. Maybe 2013.

Anonymous said...

Pulp in 2012, Blur in 2013

All I'm going to say is I don't want to see No Doubt and Rhianna in the line up, I can deal with who ever else may get booked.

Chris Brown said...

I will be in the Sahara bringing the beats!

Anonymous said...

@ 10:11 Sorry but, from what I've heard, No Doubt will be there. I doubt Rihanna will be though. So glass half-full.

Anon95 said...

I'm gonna camp out the mainstage no matter who is on it so I can take videos and pictures the whole time on my IPhone and tweet how epic it is to all my friends that weren't cool enough to go.

Anonymous said...

@12:40 Yeah, bro! Fist pump to Coldplay bro!

Anonymous said...

Fuck iPhones, I am bringing my iPad!

Anonymous said...

Saw Real Estate last night in Omaha when I was in town for work. 2 of the members confirmed they will be playing this year.

Chatted with Trevor Powers of Youth Lagoon last night at the Echo in Los A. He said he's been communicating with organizers and it will probably happen.

Booo hooo. I can't enjoy Coachella because there are hipsters, ravers, and bros.

@2:16 I don't believe they were complaining about hipsters, ravers, or bros being there. It seems like what they were trying to say was that there's idiots in every scene. It's not just bros.

Anonymous said...

Anon @2:42: Are you saying that both Foo Fighters and Bjork would take SUB-headlining spots AFTER TV On the Radio? That's ridiculously laughable.

Also, Friday has way too many sub-headlining acts to be even realistic (Beirut, Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, Florence + The Machine, My Morning Jacket, Phoenix, Queens of the Stone Age and Feist...not to mention Bjork and Foo Fighters [who wouldn't subheadline]). There isn't enough time in the day.

Anonymous said...

Working with booking WU LYF for a show at my university here in Orange County. I was trying to get a show in November after their Nov. 22nd date at the Troubadour, but their manger said they are only available in the area around April 19th.

You know what that means.....

Anonymous said...

@2:42

If you're going to play that game TRY and make it realistic. You have at least 10 headliners in your lineup you lazy fuck.

Anonymous said...

@7:18

"any news on electronica acts"

go back and read the face page where bands are listed. You'll get some news right there.

Reading is fun.

Anonymous said...

Reading is FUNdemental

Anonymous said...

@1005 lol

@242 Bjork has already headlined twice, why would she be the 4th act listed on her day?

Also I think I read somewhere that My Morning Jacket is going to be doing a tour abroad in Spring of next year. I think they're going to be in New Zealand or Australia during Coachella. I could be wrong.

Anonymous said...

Radiohead isn't going to be there. It's going to be either the shitty Red Hot Chili Peppers or the Foo Fighters.

Coldplay and No Doubt, however, are locked and ready to go.

Anonymous said...

Looks like the Foo Fighters/Queens of the Stone Age tour will hit California in mid-April, so I'd bet on that being one of the headliner/subhead combos.

Anonymous said...

@2:11 You are wrong about MMJ. They are in New Zealand a week before Coachella. It is fairly common for artists to play Australia right before Coachella (see Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2007) because if you are going to come back from Australia/New Zealand to the United States you will have to go through California. If anything those dates make MMJ more likely to play

@2:30 where are you getting those tour dates, just checked foo fighters and QOTSA's websites and they have no information about that tour.

Anonymous said...

my morning jacket are headlining both weekends on friday night. i believe feist is the subheadliner on those nights.

Anonymous said...

someone post the walter j list. i want to calculate it's accuracy percentage.

Anonymous said...

@3:21 Wrong. Coldplay is headlining Friday night. Saturday it's No Doubt with Justice playing the main stage after them. Sunday is the only one where the info is scarce.

Anonymous said...

Justice is no longer popular enough to play the main.

Anonymous said...

@3:56 Whether or not that may be true is irrelevant. That's the placement they're getting from Paul.

Anonymous said...

the last few posts are total faux-"in the know" bullshit. seriously, someone post walter j's list. monklish is 10/13, which isn't much better than her normal average.

Anonymous said...

Although Justice's new album is quite the bore, I can see their new accompanying live show being intriguing enough for a main stage booking.

I know Amon Tobin's booking agent. He'll be there debuting, at Coachella at least, his new live show. It's sick.

Anonymous said...

I know John C. Reilly. He won't be there but it's still pretty cool...

Anonymous said...

hahahahahah^

Anonymous said...

Amon Tobin won't have a new live set up to debut at Coachella. He hasn't even been touring that long with his new setup you fuck hole

Anonymous said...

Coldplay/No Doubt/Foo Fighters would be the worst headliners ever.

Anonymous said...

Good thing it's Radiohead, Coldplay, No Doubt.

Anonymous said...

I bet Walter J will end up having a better accuracy petcentage than Monklish when all is said and done.

Anonymous said...

if that's the famous Walter J list, i'll be shocked if he hits 50%. as it stands, he's only 32% correct, and i don't think that they have too many more acts to book that will boost his percentages much higher.

Anonymous said...

@ 1:14 That's the set up that he'll be using at Coachella, you fuck hole. He hasn't used it at the fest before, therefore, he's DEBUTING it.

As the saying goes, you're a load that your mom should have swallowed.

Anonymous said...

@ 8:57 How can Walter J be 32% "correct" if they haven't even announced the line-up yet? Is he accurate to you, because you're speculating the same? Or is it because he's been posting "rumored" bands that the board have been throwing around for a bit now?

Anonymous said...

Some of you care too much.

Anonymous said...

^ That's what your mom and sister told me last night.

Anonymous said...

You are full of shit. I have walter j's accuracy rating at 46%.

Anonymous said...

The more lists I read, the more reasons not to go. What line-up: shitty hip- slop, bad neo- whatever, the emperors new clothes bands of the moment, and ...oh doesn't matter.

Anonymous said...

@10:11 you should leran what words (specifically debut) mean.

For instance: "your grandmother is coming over to debut the 'hot carl'" would be an incorrect statement, because she's been using it for years. It may be the first time I've seen it, but its not a debut.

Anonymous said...

^So much effort, so little gained. Try again.

Anonymous said...

anon @10:11

Your saying actually made me lol, and I would like to have your permission to use that. Debuting something at Coachella was Daft Punk in 06. You should have said something like he's bringing his new set up to Coachella (which he is). At least you're a funny fuck hole.

Anonymous said...

theres this rumor going on, that my penis might be headlining saturday.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, but headliners need to be able to go on for at least an hour.

Anonymous said...

Your mom is brining her new set-up to Coachella.

Anonymous said...

So what is Radiohead going to do in the month between the Arizona date and Coachella?

Anonymous said...

DJ-ing @ Low End Thoery

Anonymous said...

@7:12 I doubt that's their entire tour. They're probably just slowly rolling out the dates.

Besides, there's plenty of cities, and a country (Mexico), nearby that they can go to during that time.

Anonymous said...

"You are full of shit. I have walter j's accuracy rating at 46%."

i don't care what you "have" it as. i was telling you what it was.

also, radiohead are headlining. "oh, you must be saying this because of the tour announcement?" well, no. remember that shit rag that leaked the no doubt and radiohead headlining appearances? they were only half right. no ska headliner in sight. the other two headliners are a shitty bro rock band and daft punk.

Anonymous said...

name the 'bro-rock band' or get fucked

Anonymous said...

Bro rock band? That leaves out Coldplay because that's chick stuff. Chili Peppers? Foos? Incubus?

@11:39 Bro-rock band? I'm leaning towards it being RHCP, which would be awful!

Anonymous said...

Jeff Mangum?

Anonymous said...

If there's a bro-rock band headlining its gonnabe foos.

Anonymous said...

Fuck Jeff Mangum. Way to waste a Sub.

Anonymous said...

After thorough calculations, i have walter j's accuracy at 113%

Anonymous said...

not to give any credibility to the post but how on earth could you complain about a "Bro Rock" act if Daft and Radiohead are on the bill. With the talking heads and bowie never going to happen, 2/3 from "dreamchella" would be unreal.

Anonymous said...

Which acts on the Monklish list aren't playing? Most accurate speculation or not, it's a statistical inevitability since no post has ever been 100% accurate.

There are not really that many headliners that it COULD even be...there arent that many anymore in my opinion.

I mean who hasnt done it that makes senze even?

Maybe these:

White Stripes (but they are done, or are they, cash thrown at that duo might change Meg's anxiety REAL fast)

Pearl Jam (this just HAS to happen, HAS TO, why why why has it not????)

David Bowie (never happening, he is pretty ill lately i hear)

Waters doing The Wall (we already got him once, i can see it happening again, i just dont think this equals two wknds as we have already had him with Darkside, but The Wall is the better album)

Foo Fighters (they are on fire, makes sense but i hear Grohl never wants to do Coachella again cause his kids and wife had to be held back because Jay Z had the backstage area on lockdown when he came into headline after the Vultures played and he was pissed that they pulled such a dick movie as Hova took the stage)

Eminem and Dr Dre (if Detox comes out, these two could be fun as hell, but Eminem's performance at Bonnaroo was nothing compared to

Metallica (they could tear that joint up and from what i hear they already did at the Big Four)

REM (well they retired but they have not done it, we will prob see them come back and do it in like 2015)

The Who (its only half the band at this point, so i dont even care, but they almost did it what two yrs ago, or was that last year?)

The Stones (they ARE going on their 50th anniversary tour, accept that they might open it at Coachella or close it there in '13)

U2 (they just wrapped up their tour, but they have not done it surprisingly)

Outkast

Beasties (why do people think they arent still a headliner and why has no one been mentioning them on here for months, this is a solid and likely thing as they have yet to go out and support their new album at all, i know they did it on 03 but its like they never did that was so long ago!)

Bob Dylan (dont think he can put on the show he once could)

Tom Petty (doesnt really fit the crowd i dont think, more Bonnaroo)

THESE HAVE DONE IT but i can see it happening again:

Radiohead (this one just is...accept it)
Daft Punk
Coldplay
TOOL

I am calling it
FRI - Metallica
SAT - Daft Punk
SUN - Radiohead
