Ouch. Just got a look at a lineup preview from an industry douche I used to work with. Very top heavy lineup. Two of the headliners have been much discussed here, one not so much. (Sorry robot fans, you can start the wait til 2013). Sahara is as bad as last year, if not worse, and overall the undercard is really lacking and there are at least two subs that would have been third line last year. Several bands are playing only one weekend, although no HL or subs (go with weekend 2 if you have a choice).
Very disappointing overall. Seems like GV has decided that because they got one dream headliner that will probably guarantee sellouts both weekends, that they can skimp on the rest of the lineup and still cash in large.
All I can say is that you're going to hear a lot of bitching and moaning in a few weeks, and very likely a lot fewer people buying advance layaway tickets next year. Really perplexing long-term move by GV. You'd have thought the move to two weekends would have brought out the hammer to blow everyone away and cement Coachella as a must-see every year and lock in the layaway sales, which is a huge profit for GV. Instead they went for a naked cash grab on top of that.
Outside of _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ , not much on this poster that is must see. No big reunions, no big exclusives, and not a single big electronic act, unless you think _ _ _ _ _ _ _ is main stage material. Absolute Xmas downer.

I think the Ultra lineup is good news for Coachella. Coachella in the past has made it unnecessary to go to an electronic music festival because the saharra and dance acts are so good.
Kraftwerk could be back at the Polo fields, they were amazing in 08. Pretty Lights, Carl Cox, Fatboy Slim, Avici, Magnetic Man, Digweed....Expect a few of those names on the poster.

For all intents and purposes we know Radiohead and Justice, but nobody else on the top 2-3 lines is really a lock. I tend to think Bon Iver and Bassnectar (who would probably be 3rd line) are in, and I have a hunch about TV on the Radio. But other than that we are pretty well in the dark. Good job on keeping secrets this year, GV.

Actually, Black Sabbath is one of the headliners. it will probably be Radiohead, Black Sabbath and Bjork. But Radiohead and Black Sabbath will be headlining. so now you have permission to get your panties in a twist.
I don't know why I'm dignifying this with a response but Black Sabbath is not headlining Coachella. Please be a little realistic. Nobody even went to Ozzfests to see Black Sabbath. Coachella would just book Tool over them.
And they've already states Download Festival (in Europe, where they are from) will be their first comeback show.
like i said before, Black Sabbath will be headliningwith Radiohead. as for the third headliner, im not sure. maybe Bjork? maybe Foo Fighters? maybe No Doubt? but it will be Black Sabbath. So get used to it.
