@6:15 This is true, but the Black Keys and Mumford and Sons are on completely different levels (career-wise).
The Black Keys have several albums out. The past two, Brothers and El Camino, have been a massive success for the band.
Whereas, Mumford and Sons, have only one out--with another on the way in September. Which remains to be seen if its going to be good or even a success for the band.
@3:27 Monk is coming to post anything yet, because the Coachella Message Board hasn't posted their predictions yet. This is where he or she get's their info.
Im under the impression that we're getting, based off the S.S. Coachella line-up, the following: El-P, Killer Mike, Grimes, Cloud Nothings, and Father john Misty. These artists haven't played yet. At least as far back as I can remember.
Other than that, I'm going with:

I believe this may be the year we get Daft Punk, so that's one of the headliners for me. The other two, I have no idea.
the headliners are set in stone. No Doubt Nine Inch Nails Daft Punk
also Underworld is working on a large production for the mainstage after one of the headliners this makes sense after their exposure and notoriety at this year's Olympics.
Nine Inch Nails is not happening. Reznor is two years removed from saying he was sick of touring and performing live. He's said in interviews that he'll continue to make music as NIN but won't be touring for a while.

One is a headliner, one is a pre or post-headliner main act. It's not like either act could play the Gobi at 3pm, and they do have a rough schedule in effect, at least for the main acts. Radiohead grudgingly signed knowing they would be playing after Pixies. Genius.
@419 lots of those names being tossed around are releasing albums 2012-2013 so there's a good chance many of them will in fact be there. It's gonna be a busy year for music!
Obviously, nobody has any reason to believe me because I've never posted here. But, take it for what its worth... Sigur Ros and How To Destroy Angels are confirmed. Hot Chip looks very likely and maybe Tegan & Sara. No Doubt is definitely NOT playing Coachella.

while i would love to see Missy Elliot & Timbaland, not going to happen. they were announced for rock the bells this year and couldnt put it together to perform.
@4:39 - Sometimes significant acts (and Missy and Timbaland reunion is significant) "cancel" on a pre-existing show because, say, another major show offers them more money for first rights. Ever wonder why The Weeknd canceled on his New York shows last year? A little festival in Indio shelled out some serious $$$ and billing for his first United States show.
Sometimes a cancellation is because the act is a shitshow, and sometimes a cancellation is because the money and exposure is better somewhere else. Just sayin'.
@354, Skrillex and Deadmau5 wouldn't be any lower than #2. Lush won't happen because they tried to reunite before and GV said they didn't want the band. Otherwise, quite plausible.
Gorillaz, Paul McCartney, Kanye West, Prince (granted he was not on the initial poster), nobody ever predicts the headliners right. It's never the band that's on tour.
Never the band thats on tour?!? Haaa. U just named 5 examples and there has been 30 headliners... Um there have been plenty of times that the band was on tour
RHCP Muse The Killers Tiesto Yeah Yeah Yeahs Skrillex LMFAO Stone Roses Blur Culture Club Afrojack Hot Chip MGMT M.I.A. Fiona Apple Pitbull Hardwell Grizzly Bear T-Pain Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros Passion Pit
RHCP and Muse and Killers are the fucking headliners??? r u fucking kidding me???
Killers is known as one of the WORST headliner choices that ever touched that mainstage, PERIOD.
NO way in HELL are they slopping the Chili Peppers at us for a THIRD time, as the new album has NOT been a hit and no one cares from the polo fields about them anymore as Frusciante quit the band.
And Muse was JUST there, three yrs ago and they dont repeat headliners that quick, fastest they ever repeated a headliner was RHCP in 03 and in 07, and closest to that would be 5 yrs (Cure in 04 and in 09).
FAIL
its three of these, no question:
Jack White No Doubt Green Day Daft Punk The Stones Pearl Jam Eminem Phoenix Blur Tom Petty Watch The Throne Nine Inch Nails TOOL
and stop saying Outkast people, i know Big Boi and they are not going out until 2014, so expect them then...
Suck it @407, man you were doing so well...right up until the point you put Blur on your potential headliner list...and at that point you fell right into the bucket of retard soup that you accused others of being in.
There's no way a fucking band that was NEVER successful in the US would headline now. Not a fucking solitary chance in hell.
GV loves putting 3rd rate Britrock on the 2nd line, and Blur has zero chance of ascending higher than that. 90% of young concertgoers in the US have no fucking clue who Blur even is. They're not a Coachella headliner, not now, not ever.
I agree. If you are going to make a fake poster at least make it a good enough lineup that people would want to go.
I agree, Blur would probably be first sub. Coachella would love to have Blur though that being said.
As for the rest of the list: Jack White - Highly Probable but sub No Doubt- Unfortunatly probably so Green Day- Nah Daft Punk- This is Happening The Stones- I'd like to see a return to the one classic headliner array Pearl Jam- Logical but for some reason, no Eminem- If there is a hip hop headliner, it's his turn Phoenix- Not big enough, possible 1st Sub Blur- 1/2nd sub Tom Petty- Nope Watch The Throne- Possible but unlikely, Kanye is nutz deep Nine Inch Nails- Leaning toward yes TOOL- Won't happen same year as NIN
Nine Inch Nails is unlikely given that Trent just announced a How To Destroy Angels EP, which will be followed by a full album, and very likely some touring. Doesn't seem to be time for any NIN, unless it's a one-off, which doesn't seem Trent-like. He was sick of playing live when he quit and doesn't make much sense to come back for two shows and then shelve NIN again.
Tool has a new album coming next year and would seem to be a better bet than NIN, if they can be ready by April and follow that with a full summer tour.
Seeing RHCP, Mumford and Skrillex on a poster in large font is enough to make any serious music lover gag. Would still go for the reunions and undercard like we all did when Kings of Leon and Jack Johnson played,so its sadly believable.
I am telling u this because I work for a lawyer that is negotiating a client's poster placement. really do not care if u dont believe me btw. DO NOT CARE.
But two headliners are locked:
NO DOUBT TOOL
The holdup is they are asking Eminem to co-headline with DAft Punk and he is thus far pretty much not having that. So the question is if No Doubt will undo it's already signed contract and squeeze Daft on their day next to them on the poster (would make a hell of a lot more sense).
If Em and Daft fall out, there is someone they have in mind but I have not heard who that is.
"Nother nice fairy tale, bro. No better than the fake one you think is hilarious."
Nice? I didn't even say who it is.
The only thing I will say: The one headliner I do know hasn't gotten much attention yet. I can't say no one's called all three (four?) headliners, though I seriously doubt it, but I can say that no more than one person has called all three.
That's exactly the point! Hundreds and hundreds of punters every year claim to have inside info that they "can't reveal" due to some bullshit excuse.
This is a completely anonymous blog and there's zero chance the info could be traced back to you. If you do actually know a headliner, there are at minimum, a hundred or more other people that also know that same info, so there's no way that revealing it here would out you in particular.
There's no legitimate reason that you can't reveal what you know. Well...actually there is one reason: BECAUSE YOU'RE FULL OF SHIT AND DON'T KNOW ANYTHING.
Whoever thinks it is odd that a lawyer negotiates placement on a poster is a complete TOOL that is EXACTLY what entertainment lawyers do
they do it for actors, getting them "above title" placement on posters
they do it on TV shows, getting actors their own separate card with their name on the screen by itself
and the CERTAINLY one thousand percent do it for posters, what u think that the artist's reps don't negotiate where on the damn poster the artist is going to end up???? HAAAA
yeah, they just ask for money and say "do with my clients name and likeness what you will, all good, we dont care where they are on the poster"
Bunch of poseurs on here pretending to know shit. Cough up the info and people can judge whether it's realistic, or shut the fuck up. No one gives a shit about fake inside info you made up to get attention. Show your tits or move on.
"There's no legitimate reason that you can't reveal what you know. Well...actually there is one reason: BECAUSE YOU'RE FULL OF SHIT AND DON'T KNOW ANYTHING."
Actually, I know the many completely legitimate reasons not to more explicitly reveal what I know. If everyone here is full of shit, why are you reading?
"Dipshits saying they know headliners but can't name them are 1000x worse"
Lazy people who suck down fake information handed to them on a silver platter and ignore real information that requires putting two and two together are the worst of all.
"Lazy people who suck down fake information handed to them on a silver platter and ignore real information that requires putting two and two together are the worst of all."
You have confused me with someone interested in deciphering bullshit clues from someone who holds no answers.
Hate to step in between this catfight, but a few things are worth mentioning:
1. Lawyers take confidentiality very seriously. Their entire reputation and business depends on it. The odds that a lawyer for a headlining act has someone working for him that doesn't also take that seriously is next to zero.
2. This blog is about rumors. Claiming you know something but not revealing it is absolutely worthless here. You're bringing nothing to the table by giving us stories about information you can't reveal. Tons of people every year come on this blog and claim to know exclusive secrets, and 99.99999% of them are lying. If you don't bring something more to the table, expect to get laughed out of the room and disregarded.
3. Please let the Tool and Daft Punk Rumors be true.
Mumford & Sons Red Hot Chili Peppers Eminem Yeah Yeah Yeahs Blur Tiesto The Knife How to Destroy Angels Amanda Palmer Flying Lotus Sleigh Bells Crystal Castles The XX
Not playing: Daft Punk Tool Stone Roses Slowdive Culture Club Lush Operation Ivy Missy Elliot & Timbaland
There's a pretty simple reason why the guy claiming he works for a lawyer of one of the headliners is lying: Goldenvoice wouldn't tell the reps of one headliner who the other headliners are, or who else they're in negotiations with.
When they negotiate with Band A, they don't say a word about Bands B/C/D, and for very good reason. They don't want Band A using the payday of B/C/D as leverage, or vice versa.
The fewer people in the know, the better, and there's no advantage (and a massive downside) in giving out more information than necessary to any one band's reps.
"DAFT PUNK IS RELEASING A NEW ALBUM IN THE SPRING AND HEADLINING COACHELLA."
Did you miss that Daft Punk released their last two studio albums in March of 2001 and 2005, but didn't play Coachella (or pretty much anywhere else) until 2006 (three weeks after the release of a compilation album) and didn't tour the US until 2007?
There's some good evidence that Daft Punk may be releasing a new album in March. There is not good evidence that Daft Punk is playing Coachella in April.
Let me revise that - there's some evidence they might be touring Europe next Summer. They did play Coachella (and nowhere else in the US) in the same year they toured Europe in 2006. And Goldenvoice has liked some Daft Punk pictures on facebook. So that's some evidence. But not much.
GV went big last year with the headliners. Black Sabbath(originally), Radiohead, and Dre/Snoop/Eminem were all huge names. I'm guessing they do the same again. My guesses are Rolling Stones, Daft Punk, Pearl Jam, Beyonce, and David Byrne.

I believe this may be the year we get Daft Punk, so that's one of the headliners for me. The other two, I have no idea.
@anon625 I made my headliner prediction in May. It is August. Nothing to post until mid-fall.
In the meantime, please let me know which of the thousands of predictions the message board has likely guessed are accurate.
Muse
Eurythmics Vampire Weekend Fiona Apple Armin van Buuren
Yeah Yeah Yeahs Phoenix
Skrillex Grizzly Bear MGMT Metric
Daft Punk
Stone Roses Sigur Ros Hot Chip Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros
And most of what 6:44 said, plus
these are your headliners already booked and set in stone:
No Doubt
Nine Inch Nails
Daft Punk
also, Underworld (not Skrillex, not Deadmau5) being considered for a post NIN or ND main stage closing spot
the headliners are set in stone.
No Doubt
Nine Inch Nails
Daft Punk
also Underworld is working on a large production for the mainstage after one of the headliners this makes sense after their exposure and notoriety at this year's Olympics.
Nine Inch Nails is not happening. Reznor is two years removed from saying he was sick of touring and performing live. He's said in interviews that he'll continue to make music as NIN but won't be touring for a while.
"Set in stone" is complete bullshit.

I like how all the lists just consist of every popular or semi-popular band in existence that didn't play last Coachella last year.
Smooth work net detectives!
Skrillex will be playing the main stage before Muse.
"Skrillex will be playing the main stage before Muse."
Of coures he will. Because Golden Voice has already determined the scheduling 8 MONTHS IN ADVANCE.
Idiots.
Muse is touring the US in the spring, but they're not playing Coachella. They already have 3 nights at Staples lined up.
Fuck Muse.
@1227
No chella but definitely Bonnaroo.

Headliners:
Daft Punk
Pearl Jam
Blur / Deadmau5
Other notables:
Stone Roses, Skrillex, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Vampire Weekend, Wu Tang Clan, The XX, How to Destroy Angels, Pretty Lights, Sigur Ros, Hot Chip, Big Boi, Pitbull, Tegan and Sara, James Murphy, Yeasayer, Bat for Lashes, Swans, Feed Me (with Teeth), Grizzly Bear, Edwarde Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, The Knife
Nope, no Blur. They're not committed to anything beyond the Olympic show they just did.
Jack White
The Rolling Stones
Daft Punk
Nope
Yep
Nope
Triple no.
Farrah Abraham's song sounds exactly like Crystal Castles.
after the Walter J fiasco last year, nobody will believe anything posted on here for any reason ever.

Green Day
Eminem
Daft Punk
Deadmau5, Eurythmics, Blur, Stone Roses, The Knife, Underworld
I hear that everybody you have heard is playing is more relevant that who I have heard is playing.
nevermind coachella, wat r the chances the knife actually drop that 4th album by the end of the year?
Vampire Weekend headlining will prove the world is a fucked up place.
Not a chance in hell.
I have no clue whatsoever but who can complain about Rolling Stones, Pearl Jam and Daft Punk?
Can we all agree that if DP doesn't have an announced new album that they will not be there?

while i would love to see Missy Elliot & Timbaland, not going to happen. they were announced for rock the bells this year and couldnt put it together to perform.
@354
Your lineup is not only highly innacurate, it's also stupid and fucking terrible.
Looks like Pussy Riot will be headlining Saturday night.

Dire Straits reunion
Aerosmith
Whitestarr reunion

I hate reading everyone's predictions because they are all fucking garbage.
^Speaking of which, Garbage is also booked.

Slowdive
@354, Skrillex and Deadmau5 wouldn't be any lower than #2. Lush won't happen because they tried to reunite before and GV said they didn't want the band. Otherwise, quite plausible.
I'm willing to bet @3:54 gets a better overall correct amount of acts than Monklish
Monklish, do you think Aphex Twin will finally play 2013?
Divine Fits and Yeasayer are shoe ins
David Guettea
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
James Blake
Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds

Not a single person predicted Dre/Snoop last year. Not a single one. Nobody had the Black Keys until the week of the lineup announcement.
In other words, you people know nothing.

Naw, that's been said many times already. Lots of other people are full of shit too.
Headliners:
Blur
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Daft Punk
Reunions:
Stone Roses, Slowdive, Cibo Matto
Great, another delusional Brit trying to sell Blur as a headliner.

MAN SO MANY OF YOU ARE FUUUUUUUUCKING RETARDED.
Jack White
No Doubt
Green Day
Daft Punk
The Stones
Pearl Jam
Eminem
Phoenix
Blur

Nine Inch Nails
TOOL
and stop saying Outkast people, i know Big Boi and they are not going out until 2014, so expect them then...
it's going to happen in 2013... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbi6Hr1TiWI
I think that Blur will headline :D
I think that the moon is made of green cheese :D
http://i49.tinypic.com/1534q50.jpg
That poster at 546 is pure vomit.
I agree. If you are going to make a fake poster at least make it a good enough lineup that people would want to go.
I agree, Blur would probably be first sub. Coachella would love to have Blur though that being said.
As for the rest of the list:
Jack White - Highly Probable but sub
No Doubt- Unfortunatly probably so
Green Day- Nah
Daft Punk- This is Happening
The Stones- I'd like to see a return to the one classic headliner array
Pearl Jam- Logical but for some reason, no
Eminem- If there is a hip hop headliner, it's his turn
Phoenix- Not big enough, possible 1st Sub
Blur- 1/2nd sub
Tom Petty- Nope
Watch The Throne- Possible but unlikely, Kanye is nutz deep
Nine Inch Nails- Leaning toward yes
TOOL- Won't happen same year as NIN
No Tool? Fuck that poster.
I am telling u this because I work for a lawyer that is negotiating a client's poster placement. really do not care if u dont believe me btw. DO NOT CARE.
But two headliners are locked:
NO DOUBT
TOOL
The holdup is they are asking Eminem to co-headline with DAft Punk and he is thus far pretty much not having that. So the question is if No Doubt will undo it's already signed contract and squeeze Daft on their day next to them on the poster (would make a hell of a lot more sense).
If Em and Daft fall out, there is someone they have in mind but I have not heard who that is.
"I work for a lawyer that is negotiating a client's poster placement."
Hilarious.
Btw, I know one of the headliners and they aren't on your list.
Nice fairy tale, bro.
LOL at the idea of a lawyer negotiating a placement on the poster.
"Btw, I know one of the headliners and they aren't on your list."
Tits or GTFO.
"Btw, I know one of the headliners and they aren't on your list."
Nother nice fairy tale, bro. No better than the fake one you think is hilarious.
If they had Daft Punk, they wouldn't bother trying with Eminem.
"Nice? I didn't even say who it is."
YOU ALL ARE FUCKING INSANE
LITERALLY INSANE
Whoever thinks it is odd that a lawyer negotiates placement on a poster is a complete TOOL
that is EXACTLY what entertainment lawyers do
they do it for actors, getting them "above title" placement on posters
they do it on TV shows, getting actors their own separate card with their name on the screen by itself
and the CERTAINLY one thousand percent do it for posters, what u think that the artist's reps don't negotiate where on the damn poster the artist is going to end up???? HAAAA
yeah, they just ask for money and say "do with my clients name and likeness what you will, all good, we dont care where they are on the poster"
idiots
all of you
thats EXACTLY what entertainment lawyers do
Bunch of poseurs on here pretending to know shit.
I'll give the dude that mentioned Tool/ND/Em/DP some credit. He may be full of shit, but at least he's naming names.
Dipshits saying they know headliners but can't name them are 1000x worse.
"thats EXACTLY what entertainment lawyers do"
Actually, it's not even remotely what they do. It's what agents do.
"Actually, I know the many completely legitimate reasons not to more explicitly reveal what I know."
Great, let's hear them.
"If everyone here is full of shit, why are you reading?"
Because I enjoy laughing at poseurs like you and exposing them for the dumbfucks they are.
"Dipshits saying they know headliners but can't name them are 1000x worse"
Lazy people who suck down fake information handed to them on a silver platter and ignore real information that requires putting two and two together are the worst of all.
"Great, let's hear them."
You have me confused with someone with something to prove to an anonymous person on the internet.
"You have me confused with someone with something to prove to an anonymous person on the internet."
Then why are you posting your fairy tales here, bro? To prove something to yourself?

Sorry, but the story doesn't hold up.
Daft Punk is happening in 2013 - more proof: http://www.mixcloud.com/FieldDayRadio/field-day-radio-with-grimes-chilly-gonzales-and-four-tet/
Will people be as upset over Mumford & Sons headlining as they were about Jack Johnson? Because it's happening.
That depends on who the other two headliners are.
Mumford is crap, but the blow will be softened if the other two are strong and if Daft Punk makes an appearance.
Underworld will be in the Mojave during Mumford, so it's all good.
Underworld in the Mojave wouldn't make up for Mumford, not by a long shot. The Knife, on the other hand...
The Knife will never play Coachella, or most festivals period.
Mumford is the new Black Keys. Get used to seeing them stink up the poster for the foreseeable future.
y not? fever ray played lots of fests

DAFT PUNK IS RELEASING A NEW ALBUM IN THE SPRING AND HEADLINING COACHELLA.
RL Grime

My guesses are Rolling Stones, Daft Punk, Pearl Jam, Beyonce, and David Byrne.
who from this line up, coming 2 weeks before coachella, can we expect?
