And the last headliner is anyone's guess... maybe something dark to balance the light of Coldplay and a fist-pumping DJ... like TOOL? They CURIOUSLY skipped LA when they did their socal shows this year.
Maybe a hip hop artist (I mean who besides Eminem would be able to do it? Watch The Throne? Kanye by himself again possibly?). But I would not expect a classic rock act again. Crowd has changed. I don't know that they would know the words to a Tom Petty song or a tune by the Boss (which is too bad cause neither have ever done it but Petty has done Outside Lands twice and Bonnaroo once and the Boss did Bonnaroo).
I will say this and I mean it. I could honestly see Lana DelRay already back even though she just subheadlined this year... Coachella will rebook a band here and there two yrs in a row ESPECIALLY when a huge crowd shows up for a band that is blowing up. The Black Keys subbed before Kings Of Leon in 11 and then headlined the same night the next year (Friday). I could honestly see her back already and headlining. That girl had the biggest crowd I ever saw at the Outdoor Theater this year tied with Thom Yorke/Flea in '10 maybe. So by that rationale we could also already see Calvin back for s true closing it all out set.
So... Friday - dark band like TOOL or Eminem
Sat - Coldplay (with a slight chance of U2 being it)
Sun - Lana and EDM co-headline Sunday maybe? Or Foo Fighters finally make their return (they would share bill with an EDM act though I can tell you that. Maybe they land Adele for her return to live shows? Females love her. They could make her share a bill with an DJ I bet.
I will have more info soon, as I called all headliners last year as u may recall (yes even Muse)... but until then... I am just speculating for the most part. Though I am pretty sure about Coldplay... new album, no real tour announced yet (just those one off intimate dates they did), have not done Coachella since 2005 and females and youngins love them...

^ Good point. Most of the festivals have ~50% of the same acts. Coachella's lineup is made up of tons of acts that are not on the festival circuit and a lot of up and comers. That said, they really didn't do a great job this year. When The Weekend and Florence and the Machine are you #2 acts on the poster you didn't work very hard. What about MMJ, Massive Attack, The Talking Heads, Thievery Corp, Atoms for Peace? They needed a few more outside the box, big name gets. Id give the lineup this year a C on paper. It is always better once you dig through it a bit and after you live it, it will likely be an average Coachella lineup.
It has come to my attention that Mr. Richard D. James will appear on the set times when they are released the week of the festival. You can stop wondering why Friday is light on acts because he's getting THREE HOURS ON FRIDAY NIGHT.

Just caught a glimpse of the mockup poster and the 2016 lineup is really really disappointing, the biggest letdown since the festival's inception. Makes this year's lineup look like the holy grail of lineups. RIP Coachella. So sad.

I was at a wine bar in Pomona last weekend and overheard some people talking about a new soundproof Coachella tent that will be have a limited capacity. They were talking about how to regulate entry and at one point brought up the idea of charging a separate fee. Would be pretty fucked up to pay for a Coachella pass only to then have to buy another ticket just to get into a tent...
