Calvin Harris and Lana Del Rey are the other headliners.

The undercard and the dance lineups are weak this year.

You will see it all on Tuesday morning.

^^ Thanks for telling us nothing we don't already know.

Anyone know if any cool less electronic leaning acts that were great on record in 2015 we haven't heard mentioned on the undercard besides Sufjan and Wolf Alice? ...acts like

Viet Cong
Ought
Tobias Jesso, Jr.
Hop Along
Screaming Females
Kamasi Washington
D'Angelo
Courntey Barnett
Sleater-Kinney
Julia Holter
Natalie Prass
Matthew White
DeafHeaven
Sleaford Mods
Torres
Ezra Furman
Mbongwana Star
Young Fathers
Destroyer
Low
Lonelady
Gwenno
John Grant
Girl Band
Girlpool
Ryley Walker
Algiers

You know, the type of criticalyl acclaimed up and coming acts that ten years ago made up half the lineup.

Etc. Etc. Fear undercard is going to be just a couple big names a day thena bunch of lukewarm electro-soul retreads like Aluna George and fourth tier never will amount to anything small time rockers like The Arkells.

AEG doesn't like to book women unless they are pop stars, so cross off a lot of those names.

If Lana del Rey headlines the festival, coachella will be dead

The order and days are wonky, but 3 a.m. is 100% right about the headliners and 80% right about the others.

Have fun dealing with all the shithead, rapist bros and vapid basic bitches.

OK so Friday is one of the best days in Coachella history. If you'd have told me 1 year ago that Friday would have LCD, Sufjan and Underworld I would flat-out have not believed it.

Sunday is a joke. I never thought they'd top Drake as worst headliner ever but they managed to do it this year. I'm still in the "bargaining" phase of denial.

Anonymous said...

Sunday is far from a joke and rounds out the best Coachella lineup of the two weekend era.

Sia will be incredible and could have easily been the headliner, especially considering she'll be a U.S. exclusive. Major Lazer and Calvin Harris, like them or not, have earned their positions on the poster and will both be ridiculous main stage dance parties that will be light years beyond the shameful atrocity that was Drake in 2015. Remember when Madonna came out! ahahaha...ha.

And then there's Death Grips, Beach House, Deafheaven, Rancid, Digweed, Young Fathers, fucking Kamasi Washington, and on and on.

Anonymous said...

The whole "they're popular, so they're acceptable" argument is bullshit regarding the likes of Calvin Harris. Coachella 1999 wasn't headlined by Limp Bizkit and Creed.

DAVID BOWIE HOLOGRAM IN 2017

Anonymous said...

^ Fuck off you worthless piece of shit.

Anonymous said...

Monklish hologram, too?

Anonymous said...

did anyone ever figure out how Monk even got all her tips and leads? It had to be in a pretty illegal way, as the rumor is she was served with a cease and desist and them BAM! Gone... So how was she getting this stuff anyway?!

Anonymous said...

One of her last (if not the last) pre-lineup posts was also deleted.

Anonymous said...

Radiohead will be added to Sunday.

Anonymous said...

Monklish was taken out by the Illuminati for spilling the beans on Daft Punk and Boards of Canada.

Anonymous said...

Monklish an hero'd after failing to steal rumors properly.

Anonymous said...

This blog, like Monklish's credibility is deader than David Bowie.

Adele is the only headliner booked..

LA Jay said...

The miniature stadium being built for Oldchella will also be used for the return of Daft Punk in 2017. This is the reason for the 30,000 increase in attendance and for moving the Outdoor stage to the southwest corner. In addition to GA and VIP, there will be new wristbands that include access to seating which is one of the reasons the presale is being delayed.

Anonymous said...

LA Jay is a 9th level retard. The main stage is staying where it is and they are not adding seating to the Coachella spring event.

GV will put on a fall festival (like Desert Trip this year) every fall, featuring a different and distinct genre every year. Fewer people, but higher prices and seating to justify it.

They're planning an electronic-only event for fall 2017 which will NOT include seating. Preliminary names are Justice, Chemical Brothers, and Armin. And no, Daft Punk is not appearing at Coachella 2017, or anywhere else in the near future. Thomas is working on soundtracks and Guy isn't working period.

Anonymous said...

Hahahahaha. Remember that time LA Jay said that there would be new wristbands that included access to seating in the 2017 presale?

Yeah, that was bullshit. So was the Daft Punk crap.

hearing Adele, U2, and Daft Punk

Anonymous said...

^ That would be the biggest headliners of any festival ever..

Anonymous said...

Adele - tour finishes this year and is not extending into 2017.
U2 - album won't be finished by next spring.
Daft Punk - why stupid fucking cunts keep believing this shit is beyond me.

Check this post in Jan 2017 ;D

Bon Iver
Kanye
Alive 2017

^^^
All 3 of those are wrong.

Anonymous said...

Adele - She was the first headliner booked. 2017 will be her only north American dates.

Daft Punk - I have trouble believing this myself. My source is telling me they're booked. No one, will believe it until they see the poster is released.

I haven't heard anything about GV booking a 3rd headliner yet. U2? maybe but based on the price of the first two.. Id bet on something cheaper.
